Saw A Marine Story on Tuesday; the LA Times has a positive review of it today. (I went to see it because a college friend plays the character the review calls "Saffron's drug dealing boyfriend.")

This movie may have been brought up several pages back but I saw Shelter today, and it was actually pretty good. I was shocked to see a gay movie that didn't suck.

Nice story, good actors, it didn't look like it was put together on a $2.00 budget.

I give it a "B." And for a gay movie, that's pretty damn good.

Andy, we discussed Shelter on pages 3 and 4. A lot of us really liked it! A few of us not so much. Glad you were in the former group.

I don't even remember saying I loved it, but apparently I did?! I haven't seen it since then, but it didn't really stick with me. Hmmmmm. Whatever. Are there any good gay films from the past 2-3 years? I haven't gotten any recommendations in ages.

Last night I started watching Eyes Wide Open, a sad foreign film about two Ultra-Orthodox Jewish men who fall in love. It does not end well, as you can imagine. But the passion! OMG. And the younger guy is so pretty, heh.

Also I did finally see I Love You Phillip Morris a while ago. Both Jim Carrey and Ewan McGregor were fantastic.
Proudly serving as Andy's faithful minion since 2008.

It wasn't the kind of movie I would watch again. But it was O.K. enough to make it all the way through without giving up or wanting to throw something at the TV screen 20 minutes in.

As it stands, 95% of gay movies are still awful as hell. However, I would like to see, 'I Love You Phillip Morris.' From the looks of the preview, it looks like the romance is really the B story and the main focus is on Jim Carrey's character conning people. Looks good.

Has anyone else here seen the new film Weekend? It's about two guys in Nottingham who hook up at a club one night and end up spending much of the next couple days together. I don't know how wide its distribution is, but it's been playing in Seattle the past couple weeks so I assume it's showing in other big cities too. Anyway, I highly recommend it. Watched this tonight. Really, really good, and not just for a gay movie.

I just watched a gay film titled "The Dream Children" which was made back in 2015. I thought it was a pretty good movie. I watched it on the "FilmRise" app under "LGBT" category.

I thought the two actors, who played the gay couple, Steve and Alex, were both very talented actors, not to mention both were easy on the eyes too! Steve and Alex seem to have everything going for them, but Alex wants more: He wants to become a father.

But I must warn you, there is a graphic, cringeworthy scene that involves a girl, and a sadistic asshole, who verbally, emotionally, physically, and sexually abuses and assaults her, an in front of the child. Those scenes were so uncomfortable for me to watch that I had to mute the audio until the scene was done. Abuse and Rape is sickening and shouldn't happen to anyone, no matter what your gender or sexual orientation is.

Other than that scene, the story was good, the sex scenes between Steve and Alex were hot as fuck to watch! Both guys have sexy bodies and nice butts!

I enjoyed the movie, despite a few uncomfortable scenes. It has a happy ending, which makes it worth it to watch. It was made 2 years ago and I think both actors, especially Nicholas Gunn, who plays Alex, gave Emmy/Oscar winning performances.

IF any of you have seen this movie before, feel free to let me know your initial thoughts on it.
I love Jake "sex on legs" Silbermann!
