For those of you interested in the Zodiac's codes, I've managed to acquire a high-res (1500x2307 | 466KB) full-color image of the unsolved Z340 cipher. See preview below:

Here's a link to the image -- http://www.zodiackiller.com/images/340hr.jpg.

Some of the symbols are different than previously thought. See the link above.

Tom--Do you know if that big "half circle" on the left was done by Z?Curious because I noticed he signed "the little list" with a large circle-cross, similar in size to that half circle on the 340.I am wondering if "the little list" was a clue to the 340--of course he would have had to write them at the same time and hang on to "the list".Sorry if mentioned before somewhere.

I thought that was a hair that had fallen on the cipher.

I believe the half moon area you refer to actually indicates where a fingerprint was found.Someone please correct me if I have this wrong.

Ok, if it's a hair I'll feel pretty silly!

I don't know--if you zoom in real close it looks like there is a start/stop point at the top. Obviously not the same pen. I'm thinking the fingerprint thing as mentioned above...if not from Z. I mean, wouldn't they have removed a hair that big??

I think, and I may be wrong here, that hair is on the camera lens.
