In his 'My Name Is' letter, Zodiac mentions that he is "mildly cerous as to how much money you have on my head now." Just how much was this amount, anyway?

I never heard any amount announced.

No offense, Alan, but that I was already aware of.

No offense taken. It doesn't surprise me that you would know it, you neo-Pythagoran, you. Reading AGAINST THE DAY yet? You should be.

Thanks, Alan. Sadly, I have not yet managed to clap my incarnadine paws on a copy of Against the Day. Pynchon's works are becoming frustratingly difficult to find where I live, this tragedy stemming from the disturbing phenomenon of local bookstores catering to the lowest common denominator more and more with every passing day. Literary appreciation is deader than Julius Caesar.

I've always wondered if Z is/was a Pynchon fan.

I could swear that I've seen something, either in print or in an old news report, that actually gave a number for the bounty on Zodiac. I wonder if this is still active? Could Tom collect it if Sam turns out to be Z?

The missing poster for Donna Lass (early 70's) had a reward on it, along with Zodiac code. Mentions her as a possible Zodiac victim. Don't know what the code is supposed to be. Must be fake but makes you wonder how they came up with it--or if it actually says something.I haven't noticed any other type of reward. Would be interesting to see if anyone comes up with anything.http://www.zodiackiller.com/LassReward.html
