Just off hand the poster says it was the Sahara hotel without indicating the name had changed (in 1983)for those who would not know. This could possibly be an indication the hotel was still called the Sahara at the time the poster was printed by the Lass family.Mary mentioned to me a few times they had a family member(or in law) that is into computers, graphics, etc. He may have done the poster. She told me the reward was no longer in effect as I recall.Note at the bottom of the poster the family is mentioned.I do hope this doesn't go into a all out contraversy as it was just an attempt at the time by the family to seek more information.I have enough to do as it is.Remember that Hines had pretty much convinced them Kane was the perp, hence, the 'positive'poster wordage about having information, etc.

No worries Howard. If the phone number they put down began with (530) it had to have been done after '97. They must have put the "Sahara" because technically, that was where she worked!Again, I just thought it strange that if the family and investigators thought she was abducted at work (Stateline, NV) why not include the Douglas Co. Sheriff's Dept.?

I wonder if the poster was originally created in the 70's, and then updated with new information over the years, like the new phone number.

Arm,'You could be right.I may have to go into this, but why?It is of NO real importance.I will to help though.Tahoe,'After '97 is OK too! This brings us into real computer use then and Mary's 'relative'could be using a computer then. The family was not happy with the Douglas PD due to how they were treated, which I can list later on.But they were not thrilled with LTPD either.I looked at both sides.I can get a detailed list from Mary about the poster, but I don't see this helping to establish what happened to Donna, which should be our goal.It is certainly mine whether Z did it or not.I note in the '07 artlcle in Tahoe you posted that Mary wants the Christmas card back.I told her not to give it to them(FBI or SFPD) unless they promised to do DNA on the card.I barely got all my Davis letters back and with no DNA testing from the FBI!If it were not for Dave Peterson and his FBI contact they would be still be in their files!

I have always thought that the Zodiac got his notion of a bounty from the Benicia Herald dated Jan. 16, 1969. It reads in part:“The killer of Betty Lou Jensen and David L. Faraday soon may have a price on his head. "Similar to his wording of 4/20/70 when he states:"I am mildly cerous as to how much money you have on my head now."Any thoughts?Soze

Soze,Good spot!Let's not forget the oft disputed 10/5/70 card which says, ""What is the price tag now?" I think Z wanted a reward and the bigger ("price tag'-"...how much money...") the better as far as the amount of the reward. For him it must have been an ego boost. One does wonder why there wasn't a large reward though. Puzzling.

There were probably enough nutjobs coming out of the woodwork with tips already. A huge reward might have busted the levees.

The murders were committed in Solano County, Napa County, the cities of Vallejo and San Francisco, they might not have been able to come up with a concensus of who would put up and pay the reward if Zodiac was caught! I looked through the articles on the Santa Rosa Hitchhiker Murders and found that for three of the murder incidents, Kim Allen, Maureen Sterling & Yvonne Weber and Lori Kursa the reward was 000 for each. The reward for Jeannette Kamahele was 00 and it was 500 for Carolyn Davis. It doesn't seem like a lot of money now, though I guess it was back then.

The inflated values 1972 to 2010:$ 500 = $ 2,627.12,000 = $ 5,254.23,500 = 3,135.58
