We should thank Detective Poyser for having the insight to let Tom go over the evidence. Knowing that Tom has more knowledge about the entire case, than many in law enforcement.
Each department works only their case and know very little about the other Z crimes in other cities.  In order to really get to the bottom of the Z case, you need to know everything about every one of his crimes is what I believe. For example when I went to SFPD ,they didn't want to hear what I had to say unless it pertained to the Stine case. Dave Toschi in 1970 was open to hear everything. I think Det, Poyser is open to hearing anything that could help crack the case. He is what I would say is a very good detective!

Different guy pictured above, not Darlene's ex-husband.
Hi Tom, are you at liberty to reveal the identity of the fellow photographed in suit and glasses, or the relevance of the photo?

Most of the solutions that I have seen, the symbols are changed to fit what the person wants the cypher to say. You can't do that and get the correct solution period! I used the solved cypher's as my Rosetta Stone and came up with a name in two cypher's.
However the 340 had some new symbols added ,that makes it much harder to solve. I think that the first three letters "HER" are a huge clue to the killers last name and had nothing to do with Herb Caen. I also think that Zodiac got his idea of sending cypher's from the movie "My Secret Weapon", where the first 3 cypher's were broken , the 4th was much harder, because it had to be read in mirror. The 340 could also be in another language or Zodiac just wanted to frustrate everyone and it tells us nothing.
I am looking forward to Tom finding something in those boxes that has been over looked. Like more Zodiac letters, or a trinket that belonged to a victim. It wouldn't surprise me to know that there are still some letters to be found at the SF Chronicle! I have seen a full Z box there , but didn't ask to look through it.

I would wear gloves just in case there is a true Z letter in that box. I had a bit of a cringe when I saw the bare hands in the video.
I agree, gloves please.

Tom,

What prompted Det. Poyser / SFPD to have a renewed interest in this case ? Just curious. Is there a thought that (finally), with the advances in DNA analysis, that law enforcement might be able to at least get a enough of a partial match that it could be useful ?

Hey just wanted to introduce myself. My name’s Silvio and I am from Spain. I’ve been interested in the Zodiac case for three years now. As you may see I can’t speak english perfectly but I think I can do it well enough so you can understand me.
I’m so glad and honor to be able to chat with some of you, well recognised Z researchers/experts like Voigt, Morf, Sandy and others...
I hope to learn a lot about you all and maybe make some friends with the same interests than me.
In regards to this post, I gotta say that this is exciting and I am really looking forward to hearing more news about the new developments in the case. I would pay a lot for being where Tom was , at the Vallejo Police Headquarters watching all this stuff.
Most of this message was copied from a older message I’ve just posted on the Berryessa topic, especially the introduction.

Thank you Silvio and welcome to our site, looking forward to reading your thoughts on the Zodiac case.

Tom hopefully you will return to Calif. soon and get back into the boxes at VPD. I feel it in my bones that there is something there from Zodiac that has been missed or overlooked , thinking it was a hoax.
Like the Eureka card that  was tossed in a drawer at SF Chronicle or Examiner.  We knew it was from Zodiac as soon as we saw it!
Sherwood Morrill would be proud.

Wow! This stuff is really good for my essay> I have to write about The Zodiac Killer. Everything that I have found so far is really interesting.
