I recently got the Feb 26, 1970 issue of Good Times. In it was an article about the Presidio 27. The byline of the person who wrote it is Clandes Stine. The article itself does not reak of Zodiac that I can see. What struck me though is how similar the byline Clandes Stine is to Paul Stine's wife's name, Claudia S. Stine. That's a pretty weird coincidence, if that's what it is!

It may not reak, but we have an article in Gyke's paper about the Presidio (or "park" as Zodiac called it), usage of the name Stine, and the main character in the article named Richard.

Nuts!

How true!Do you or anyone else know if Clandes Stine was ever used before or after this article as an author's name at Good Times? I kind of think that if it had it would of been mentioned before.

I belive the "Clande Stine" may in fact be an "alias" for/ mean : Clandestine

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Clandestine

Clandestine may refer to:

Secrecy, the practice of hiding information from certain individuals or groups, perhaps while sharing it with other individuals

or:

Clandestine operation, a secret intelligence or military activity

Yes, TF, it probably does. What struck me was the extra "S" in the name and Claudia having the middle initial "S".

The word is split up to appear as a name, right where the name of the writer goes.

Vallejo_dave posted this in April 2006:

An inmate of the Presidio Stockade was shot by an MP exactly 1 year prior to the murder of Paul Stine on 10-11-69. Is there any connection between the 2 events? We know Stine's killer was familiar with the Presidio. Jim Phillips was a prisoner in the Stockade at some yet to be determined period. In 1968, the Stockade was located at Ft. Scott in building 1213.
