Laptop not turning on, or showing any indication of battery or cord plugged In--lights not responding.

Suspect: using or mixed laptop chargers, possible short circuit?

Type: Toshiba 305L 5955 vista

Not sure if my laptop has a fuse? If the fuse is the problem? Or the DC in cable jack is bad?

Buying a new computer is out of my budget unless it's between $40-$60 (at that price yeah right)

How much worse is it gonna get?

Honestly, you're better off buying a new one. Double check you're using the right power cable, but it's possible you're just going to have to pull the hdd and copy anything off that you need because replacement parts are probably going to be more headache and expense than they're worth. I had a Toshiba P105-S9722 that finally bit the dust several years back, they're just not made to last.

(I'm in a full time IT job and deal with this on a frequent basis)
