I know this is the Chinese but the GS1000/ Sportsman 1000/ some others all are basically the same gun and was wondering if the Benjamin 347 that I grew up with is really more powerful than the Springer. I mean realistically and not with the inflated numbers used to sell the guns.

The .177 pumpers are not quite as efficient as the .22's, from what I've read. And a springer can generate more fps. You would have to go with a Mac-1 Steroid Tune to begin to approach them. Not that the 347 isn't a bad gun.

the GS 1000 is realistically more like 800-850 with real, medium weight pellets. The 347, in good shape, set up correctly, and with the 10 pumps allowed by the factory in those days, might hit 750 with those same pellets. However, load the 347 with heavy pellets, and the energy will jump significantly higher, possibly higher than the GS, since pneumatics are quite a bit more efficient with heavies.

I think your Cheeman (chinese Beeman) will shoot faster then the 347. But, the Benjamin wins in overall constuction.

you have to pump it but in .22 it has way more foot pounds of enery. JMHO

... about 11 or 12 years old, but was sold by Beeman. these older ones were made in Spain (Norica) and are closest to the Hammerli line today.

The 392 alwasys showed more energy than the 397... the stock Benajmain 31X, 34X, or 39X is usally good forabout 10-11 foot pounds in .177 (call it 7.9gr. at 780-800fps) and the .22 good for about 12.5-13.5 foot pounds (call that 14.3gr. @ 735-755)

The spring above would go a bit faster than either a benjamin 317 or a 347 by about 35-55 FPS when they were shoting lighter weight pellets...but as pellet weight increased (10.6gr.) the springer was just a little bit (like 12-15fps) faster than the Benjamins.
