Hoping to make my QB a real tack driver so I need a high quality barrel to go with it. I want the caliber to be .177 and length isn't so important as long as it's reasonable(not 30" and not 8").

Anyone have any ideas on where to get this?

Joe, some of those .177 QB-79 barrels are real tack drivers with the right pellets. My barrel will shoot a single ragged hole at 25 yards from the bench.

and some suggestions. What pellets are your shooting? Maker and size? At what distance are you shooting? Have you made any trigger adjustments?

Get the HPA conversion with a 13ci tank with a regulator that's set at 1250 psi or less. It will solve your temperature fluctuation problem. It should give you a ton of shots from 3000psi down to 1250.

If you got the funds, I recommend Leapers UTG 3-12x SWAT scope with 30mm tube. I've used one for about 2 years in Hunter FT.

I used to carry some that could get dime sized groups at 50 yards but... in order to get them I need to order $3000 at a time which I ain't got....try the LW or HW barrels. Will cost a bit to get fitted but work well, price used to run around $180 or so...

This gun will be one of my only PCP's so I want it to do at least .75in at 50yards. I know that sounds like high expectations, but I'm determined to get it there.

Normal groups at 25yards is about 1" to .75in with JSB Exact Heavies.

Guess I forgot to include the equipment in the description. Pellets are the JSB Exact Heavies and the distance depends on which video you watched. yes, I have experimented a bit with the trigger, but haven't found much success.

HPA conversion is on my list. Thanks for the scope suggestion.

Is there any problems with ordering barrels from England? I've found that GMac custom parts offers a drop in LW barrel replacement for the QB7x.

machine them to fit the QB, test, keep the best and sell the rest to QB enthusiasts for your cost. You'd come out ahead of the going price for a LW barrel( which aren't always tack drivers )
