I've been bit by the Gamo bug! I frequently see used rifles in the local pawn shops. What do you guys think is a fair price for a used Gamo in good shape? How about bad shape? Thanks in advance. Jon

Considering that WalMart cleared the Shadow 1000 out for less than $100 ($80??), and the 220's can be had on the 'net for about $120, shipped, I would not offer more than $60 for a good one (really good) and, maybe, $35 - $40 for a crappy one. Really, pass on the crappy ones. If the outsides are any indication of the insides, figure you are looking at a LOT of work, including about $20 - $25 in parts (Crosman spring, seals, shipping, shlepping to the PO, etc.). You can find like new (if not NIB) Shadows and 220's for about $100 - $120 on the internet auction sites. Check here on the Yellow. Put a want ad on the classified sections. Search Craigslist. There's a couple in the DC area for about $100 or best offer. Be patient, most of all. They are out there and at good prices. Pawn shops get stuff from people who don't know what they have. For all you know, the one you buy may have been fed a steady diet of PBA's and then given to the kids to play Cowboys and Indians, dry fired a hundred times.

There are lots of youtube and forums on how to tune the Gamo.
Bought a shadow for $31 on auction, rebuild with aftermarket parts, shoot as good as new or even better. Total parts cost $35 JM-kit and hooded frontsight $11.

their new worthless plastic and untunable trigger/guide assemblies in new guns, we may see prices come up on nice used guns especially the slightly older 220s, 440s, and 890s which are almost all steel and wood. And Crosman will be laughing their way to the bank with their Gamo clones.
