i know nothing of this rifle but i like the price point and the size, though it is still too long. can the barrel and underlever be trimmed to a shorter length? i was thinking i would like to trim about 3 or 4 inches off.

thanks

what cost would there be? does the front sight come off the barrel? will the powerplant tolerate the shorter barrel?

im sure the sight can be removed but there is alot still to do. the cocking lever needs to be redone and so on. anything can be done with enough money but you should look at if its worth it

You can also put it back after you shorten and re-crowned the barrel.

Best advice? If you want a gun with shorter barrel, buy it that way! NT

aa tx200hc...........@ $550 used

if i had the cash either of these would be in my hands, but i don't. hence why i'm even considering the 97 in the first place.

to hold the under lever up if you do not want to mess with the front sight. Just shorten barrel/lever to the desired length, re-crown/dress the muzzle and that's it. Let us know how it come's out.
