OK the RECON is a plinker. It will have flyers when shooting but maybe it will get better with time. So the kid will start shooting on friday but the accuracy is not as good as my old Norica. I will keep the kid shooting at 10 yards. This is the best the Recon can do.

Before with the stock 4x20 scope

After with the Barska scope

4x scope you don't have to worry about that, but my actual experience (especially at 10 yards) says otherwise. Let some of the Recon owners chime in here as well.

After seeing the post/photo of the new gun/scope combo I had to get a new scope (plus one for the Delta) for the Recon, a Barska 3-9X32 AO. (BTW, CTD has great prices on those) After I get the new scope on it I'll see if it will do any better than the stock scope.

I'm starting to think your right. This kid will not be able to shoot good groups with this scope. I really tried to get his dad to buy the BSA AO, but he's very cheap and I think it will cost him. I have good Info. to prove it maybe parralax shift. I just know this kid will shoot poor on firday. My old Norica has an old Tasco 4x32 and it will shoot 1 hole groups at 10 yards. One guy posted on the main that he could never get the Recon's to shoot right and he had a 3-9 AO on it. But I'm getting it to shot OK. I'm convinced that some 4x scopes will be fine at 10 or 15 yards, but this one may not. I shot 4 targets just to get the one above. thats 5 total. I think its bad luck for the recon that its the worse gun I have shot in my life. I will get it right. I hope!!!!!!!!!

if you were in one of the shooting positions. This is because when a gun rested there is no familiar postition that your head will return to. The one group (bottom right, I think) looks real good. The one to the left of that one is classic parralax error pattern, IMO.

On the scope thing, I'll post an update once I've mounted them and tested them thoroughly. My kids are gonna hate me for this..he he he.

I TOLD YOU SO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

If his kid can't shoot this gun he may have the most expensive Recon on the planet. And it may still shoot JUST OK. we will see!!!

Also I was shooting from a rest.
