Ok so I sold some stuff and am looking at getting a new barrel for the QB I have slowly been working on.

While looking, and thinking, I had a few questions that popped into my head..

1.. Most accurate barrel, have a feeling I know what it is, but always like other people opinion.
2.. Where to get said barrel.
3.. Barrel length, am wanting to have a small backpack rifle, but still keep it as accurate as possible. I do have an LDC already, that I would like to use again on the build.

Those are the main questions. A few things to mention is that the rifle will mainly be run off of Co2, not sure if barrel length will cause any problems. And the end of the barrel will have to be threaded at -15mm. So if the place that I get the barrel from can do that, what would be the price?

I will soon be looking at different stocks the the rifle as well. The one I made was nice, but way to big for a back pack rifle. Been looking at some Aluminum channel stock, I may make a "tactical" stock for her. So any advice here would be great as well.

Thanks again guys

Have had great results with at least some of the China-barrels, but have to admit not all of them have been great. Would certainly seriously test it before junking it.

Breech end is as important as the crown, either end can slice or scrape a pellet with does accuracy no good at all. That transfer port hole into the barrel tends to have burrs which grab/slice the pellet as it's chambered. How stable it is to the breech (and how stable the breech to the tube) has a lot to do with accuracy.

But If I were going to the expense of having a custom length. threaded barrel made, I'd start with an LW barrel.

Unless you use a riser breech and you're running a QB79 from a 9oz. co2 tank, then the length will have to be at least a bit longer than the length of the mounted 9oz. tank. Not enough room for an LDC between barrel and tank, so the barrel has to be at least a little bit longer (call it 1" longer, and that 1" will carry the threads). That would still require you to unscrew the LDC to screw the tank on and off.

This is my "ugly short gun". Uses an on/off and a 13ci HPA tank, but the length of a 9oz. co2 tank would be just about the same. If i were to go "bare barrel" (without an LDC) could lose about 1 3/4-2" to end up flush with the end of a 9oz. tank.

Don't know if it was the football game last night or what, but I couldn't find your post.

Thanks for the reply....

I am just wanting a shorter barrel, as I already have the muzzle threaded, and since I dont' have my lathe anymore can't really cut down the breach end to make the barrel shorter.

I am running her off of a 9oz Co2 and she does have a JRA multishot riser on her. So there are two grub screws that hold in the barrel.

If I were to cut down the barrel to make her fit into the reciever. I would then have to mill.

Well I had some money in my paypal account, so I figured I would just get a spare barrel and have some fun with it.

So around 14-16" would be the smalles that you would go with a .22 cal barrel.

What would be some fun things that could be done to them to make them either shoot well, or look cool :D

Just trying to have something to do over the winter months up here.
