Hi. Looking to update my cheap AA flashlights from the 80's and 90's. The new LED 18650 powered lights look fantastic for the price. There are so many ads, and many duplicates so it looks like a crapshoot. I'd like to get a couple single and a couple double battery models, with car and wall charging capability for the cells. I understand the lithium cell potential danger. Not a flashlight fanatic here, so the likes of Streamlite and Fenix are not my thing; more Ultrafire and Vander level, lol. These would be for general duty use, not survival or pugilistic use. Anyone buy anything recently they like? Thanks, tk

I like the venerable Ultrafire WF-501B for an everyday around the house flashlight. Single mode, simple and reliable.

Or if you want something with multiple modes and zoom:

I like the bells and whistles for camping but for one that gets turned on and off a lot around the house, I don't like all the fidgety clicking and twisting.

Pushing a button 5 times to turn a flashlight off is pesky. To the previous post; lots of r/c flyers charge from their cars, albeit under the hood. Just thought it would be a nice option for travel. Thankyou Jason.

I have not had a lithium pop, a bunch have leaked.
Truth be told, if your lights are efficient, and considering that lithium stays charged in storage, you'll be unlikely to need charging in the car.

I do find 3 mode acceptable.
Hi/Low/strobe, not that strobe is useful, but HI is often TOO bright and 1-2 hour run while low can provide 10 hour run.

I like Ebay a lot, specifically sellers in Chino Cali.
There are also ebay sellers with zero feedback, crazy low prices, and they will likely be banned shortly when their competition reports the low BIN as fraudulent.
Yet I never had a problem getting a refund on defective items (expect a higher defect rate on these, just order multiples and you'll come out ahead)

If you just want to get a taste.... or hooked LOL.... here is light + batt + charger for $4.89 DELIVERED from USA.

Here is a beast, supposedly 3 mode, should outshine any light you've ever seen, I haven't bought from this seller.
I'm going to buy 6 of these RIGHT NOW BEFORE HE GETS BANNED!!!!!!!!!!!!! (edit, bought 11)

previous listings I found, downgraded because of the beast.
Here is one of those new sellers. Hard to go wrong for $2.79, I'm going to order 1 now!

Same seller, stock images and no idea what LED is in this. $3.25 Going to order one of these too (the body is a standard item called C8, much like the UF 501)

I am buying EDIT bought 11 LOL!!!

I originally thought 3x would have better throw, but reviews say it's almost the same between 3x and 12x, the only real difference being a slightly cooler run temp on the 12x.

I'm VERY tempted to clean this listing out and retrofit some light fixtures in my house.....

Amazon listing, claimed 4 hours run on HI, all the lights probably have the same driver, regardless of LED count.

UPDATE
Seller is Charles McMahan in North Liberty, Iowa, United States , I like that a lot better that 贼 采取 钱

I'll post a review when they arrive.
