Is there really a difference between shooting a 10.4, 10.5, 10.6 pellet??

use one weight at a time. So I may shoot the 10.4s in a match, but only the 10.4s. I use the 10.5s and 10.6s in a similar way. I want consistency from shot to shot and having all pellets between 10.35 and 10.44gr (for may 10.4 gr batch) is one way I try to get that consistency.

I figure if I am going to weigh them, why throw them back in a batch with three different weights. It does not take any longer to drop each pellet into a container marked for its specific weight, separated by one grain. For Premiers, I have containers from 10.1 up to 10.8. I use the ones mentioned above in competition, plink with the lighter ones and hunt with the heavier ones.

I feel if they are two tenths or more apart, you can see some slight differences in accuracy at longer ranges. In order to obtain that level, you need to sort them by observed differences of one tenth, cause thas how scales normally work.

But for casual shooting or strictly offhand type work, its a waste of time.

Shoot a group with the lighter weight pellets, then a group with the heavier pellets and compare the position of each. If the difference is considerable, then you might shoot a group with the middle weight just to know how they perform. Logic would imply that if the upper and lower weight pellets have a different central impact point, then the middle weight pellets should be hitting somewhere between them. You might want to try this at 50 yards or so. I don't think you would see a difference at closer ranges.

My guess would be that the heavier pellets might hit a bit lower than the light pellets. However, my Disco will shoot a 10.3 grain and a 8.44 grain AA pellet nearly the same (elevation) at 50 yards. The lighter pellets don't group as well though.

If you try this experiment, please let us know what you find out!

The lighter and heavier groups have more fliers, as often as not to one side, as apposed to vertical dispersion.

so far few 10.5 several 10.7 and 10.8. Die J is not what it should be to say the least. And there are some 10.9 and 11.1 weights as well.

I think I am going to send that junk back and buy a rcbs digital scale as I like to weigh my powder charges as well.

My opinion on this scale so far is it sucks. It is called the card V2.

more however. Did you even run a calibration test to see if it was accurate?

recalibrated and then started weighin....

not impressed to say the least. Shouldah spent $40 and got a powder weighing scale. As I like to trickle my charges on a balance scale.
