Disco..What's a good all around muzzle velocity for a .177 cal.Disco. using HPA,not CO2.I mainly shoot squirrels, coons, other varmints at a distance of 30-40yds.I'd like something that would be a straight trajectory at that short distance.Would 950's to 1000 fps. be good where the pellet remains accurate? I plan on using heavier pellets,so I can transfer as much energy on impact to the target for a quick kill. Thanks in advance for your input.

A .177cal 7.9g pellet does well out to that range, but a 10.5g pellet does even better out of a pcp. Especially in the 17 to 20 foot pound range. On my .177cal pcp's I usually dial in the velocity according to the weight of the pellet. Another words if I'm going to have my FX Royale shooting a 7.9g pellet 1100fps, I might as well be shooting a 10.5g pellet at 925fps, because it carries more power down range, and the accuracy is better. There are a few medium weight pellets like the JSB 8.44 or the H&N FTS 8.6 that may do well past 1000fps.

if groups improve, try another 30.
