I was looking at a gamo shadow barrel I recently pulled off and I noticed the rifling liked a quarter of an inch reaching the end of the muzzle.is that typical.I haven't seen this on any of my other guns.

It's basically just a recessed crown. I look at it as a plus as it helps protect the rifling at the muzzle.

This is a simple way to have a Target Crown...the most important part is the last contact of the pellet to the rifling. As you know, any damage at the crown can throw pellets all over..GAMO is clever to do this, and to reduce cost by this method. My Big Cat has it, and I love my Big Cat !
Meow..Get a 10X magnifer, look at the crown of your air guns. See any burrs, etc.?
