and doing some work to the valve/poppet spring/stem/transfer port, hammer, hammer spring/etc. I'd like something set up to spit H&N sniper Magnums 15 grains or more likely accuracy will be found in the shape of these sweet baby JSB's:http://www.pyramydair.com/s/p/JSB_Exact ... 250ct/1197
I know the 13.43 grain .177 JSB Monsters do VERY well out of my Discovery when cranked up. Heck even when it was only taking a 2K fill before these:http://onlinestore.magnumairpower.com/p ... -screw-kit

I took a Crow at 110 yards on top of a telephone pole. That Monster went straight through his Heart. He didn't flap, he didn't hand by the claws upside down for a second. He dropped like a light switch was just turned off. Wings extended spiraling downward. Hole come out the back was the size of a Dime. The Heart shot was pretty much a lucky shot. I knew where to aim to hit middle of body mass but I did NOT pick to hit the Heart directly. Got real lucky. Point is, a $257.00 Discovery with some work and a FACTORY CROSMAN barrel can do this!? OH boy I'm dying for a cheap BSA barreled rifle. I'll set it up to get as many shots as I can at the highest power level possible accurately and with no more than a 20fps spread spitting the above JSB 16.20 grain Beasts. Wish me luck please. Sometimes it's easy and sometimes you have to compromise.
Actually I'd like to buy a tin or trade for some 16.20 g Beasts for the Discovery first. I know from when I had a Chronograph it could send a Crosman 10.5 cracking out at over 1100fps for 3 shots. Now it has a 3K fill, valve work, hammer polished, trigger sears polished to mate, and I'll be adding this to it also as it added 10FTLBS to my .22 Discovery:http://onlinestore.magnumairpower.com/p ... mbly-parts

Next step for the Discoveries are 26" Maximus barrels for both the .177 & .22 should gain me anywhere from 80-100fps according to sellers tests results.

So although I have no idea how easy a Gamo/BSA is to modify, I don't feel it'll be necessary as my desire for that one is supreme accuracy in .177 w/ that BSA barrel. If I get it to spit heavy JSB Beasts accurately at 28-32FTLBS than awesome for me. I don't care if it only gets 8 shots. As long as they are accurate and consistently so even at long ranges. If it's as accurate as most BSA rifles are I don't care if it only produces 12-20FTLBS. Again, as long as it does it accurately and with a very close spread allowing it to do it accurately without driving me crazy for drop compensation at 100+ yards. Ah, the benefits of a regulator.

It comes in .22 only.
and get at least a true 800fps with a Crosman 13.43 but we all know Gamo and 800fps in .22 may mean 600fps with Crosmans. Hench why I want a .177 that can be a laser out to 50 yards with a 16g Polymag to a 21 grain magnum Sniper. I've heard Rabbit Magnums and other certain "cast" shapes do poorly.
Don't over look the JSB or any other cylindrical looking pellets. Extreme accuracy is what I've found if your rifle can push them.
I'll wait and see what the reviews and modifiers say.

Review on Youtube shows 730fps w/18's and 800 w/Premiers. This was the AEAC site. A couple others reported quite a bit higher velocity(PA got 770w/18's). Not sure why but possibly the distance to chrony's could be a reason. This little gun looks to be a lot of rifle for the money, especially at that sale price.
