Come shoot a brand new venue! With a new club... "Ashland Precision AirGunners"

Rain or Shine the match goes forward.... but we will delay the start or call a break for spring showers if they occur. Normally we get partly cloudy and 75 degree days that time of year.

This is one of the most beautiful settings to shoot a FT match! It's a hilltop with amazing views of the valley and mountains across the valley. The course will be set to shoot level, slight uphill, gentle downhill, and very steep downhill shots. There will be a high percentage of past 40 yard shots. The course will be 26 lanes with two targets per lane. We plan a World WFTF style match with one shot per target. The targets will be numbered, so you'll shoot by the number. Mature oaks grace the hilltop and provide shade and great spots to set targets. The wind seems to always be blowing to some degree, and it can be very gusty and switch directions with little notice. This should be a really fun challenge!

The course is on private property, part of a 600 ac "grass fed beef" ranch. The owner will be shooting with us, and wants to provide all the grass fed beef we can eat! It lies just north of the Emigrant Lake Campground, Ashland, Oregon. If you google map that campground you can see a cell tower on the hill behind the tent camping area at the campground. You enter the ranch by driving thru the tent campground, so go to the campground and follow the signs to the match site. Randy Ebersole, match director and founder of the new club hosting this match, has been the hired hunter to eliminate the digger squirrels that are ruining the pastures, If you desire, you can help us with this project before and after the matches.

If you look for the round pond and water storage tanks at the end of the road, and the fence line to the left of that, you will see the cell tower power building and fence around it. The course will start shooting along that fence to the south and course around the edge of the rock ledge that develops as you walk from that fence line north and bend east along the top of the ledge.... that is getting steeper as you walk:-) As you get to the other side of the tower and go north east, we will shoot on both sides of the path in opposite directions.

this link shown in satellite image mode shows the edge of the rock ledges pretty well. Those ledges and all the hill side are full of digger squirrels that are devastating the ranchers pastures. Hunting them during non-match times is encouraged:-)
