Remarks:
John helped set up the course again and he built and installed two floating target bases for the standing lane. One of floating bases with the Remington Rabbit target (tall –high center of gravity) developed a 30 degree tilt. The target still functioned with a kill zone hit but looked very disconcerting. For the next match, I will use a shorter target (lower center of gravity) for the floating bases on the water.

Jeff also helped set up the course, donated some snacks and had two American Flags staked in the open field for this Independence Day weekend match.

The weather was in the mid upper 70s. It was very humid and sunny with winds making the leaves on the trees to move around.

Judging the hold offs for the wind was the challenge for me for this match. It was either not enough or too much. Tom Holland and Brian Van Liew seem to have no problems with it. Brian again scored match high in open class followed by Tom.

Nathan shot his pistol as well as his 12 FPE springer. The course was not designed for pistols with only 9 targets under 35 yards. Nonetheless, Nathan shot a respectable score and was able to knock downsome of the 50 plus yard targets.

Tony (“tonyl” of Airgunnation) was able to shoot his Marauder rifle for this match. He was a spectator for our previous matches. I hope he enjoyed his first field target match and become a regular FT shooter.

Thank you very much again to all who attended and also to those who helped take down the course.

Note: Brian is shooting well in open class. I think he will be a very good contender at Crosman and Pyramyd Air Cup.

While I and my targets were only 50% I'm happy(ish) with our performance. At least the leaning rabbit was consistent. I'll remedy the listing base, or maybe not? The target has to be functional and visible right? The lean even threw me off for the second shot. Maybe I'll leave it as is.

I hope to see everyone again on the 29th with an upright and sober rabbit.
