CFX Royal Scope Mount Question

OK, much to my surprise it seems that my SCI Gamo has the CFX Royal frame and scope rail. The scope rail is attached with screws to the groves in the receiver. Now my question. Do I look for a one piece mount that mounts in the receiver grooves? If so, which one fits? Or do I look for a mount to piggyback the existing scope rail?

Thanks from an airgun newbie.

Patrick Mtn. On my Royal I have a 50mm scope and it still has clearance. That scope rail is rock solid. Put a one-piece mount on, torque it down and don't look back.

My CFX, recently purchased from Cabelas, is also that "royal" frame with the same scope rail. I mounted the same accushot mount that Ken mentioned and it has held rock solid.

I don't really think they are royals, Gamo is just mounting the rail on machined groves to keep from getting so many returns from the scope rails welded on crooked. how many times have you heard of someone with the scope rails crooked, lot's that I can rember, this is Gamo's fix.

They are just the new syle 2006 rifles, every one so far with this kind of scope rail setup has been a 06 rifle CFX and Shadows both.

When received my CFX from Cabelas a couple of weeks ago and noticed that the raised scope rail was a separate unit mounted onto the dovetail grooves in the receiver I emailed GAMO and asked about it. Well, I finally got a return email this afternoon and the GAMO rep. replied that this raised scope rail set up is a new feature that they are now using on all their newly manufactured rifles. That answers that question.

have ever looked at (about 2 dozen) has that rail. The Royal is better finished and deeper blued. Refurbs will/ may have some Royal parts. Its not an 06 thing. That rail's been around awhile.

at the show in LR. I also noticed the same rail on a BSA springer at the same show. Looked at two of em the other day at our local Dick's. All had that rail. To me it seems of very high quality.
