A really nice day greeted the CASA boys today for the third installment of the PCP Heavens Ranch Grand Prix points series. This was a dedicated PCP match with the course set accordingly with lots of small kill zones and plenty of WIND. Two shooters stood out. 75 year old Larry Albach shot a 43 in the freestyle class and Kelly Hawe of an unknown age shot an impressive 42 in open class. 72 year old me chose to shoot piston because, well, I have a nice new Walther LGU and love shooting it. Besides, I need the practice. A few of our regular shooters were missing today be we still had a good turnout of 11.

Now, about that wind. We have been having wind all week but today it was ranging between 3 and 6 miles per hour. The second half of the match the wind was gusting a bit more than the first half and my score card shows it. It was moving my body around and just about the time I would break a shot the wind would jar my body. It really does make things more challenging and MORE interesting and of course everyone has to shoot the same wind.

Next month will be the third installment of springer segment of the Heavens Ranch series.
