I've used a Benji pump both using the Foster fitting and hose attached to the AF adapter as well as using a pump with the AF adapter mounted to the pump in place of a hose and Foster.

When you get to 1000lbs what happens? Does the pump handle get to where you can't compress it (dirty check valve), or does the effort stay the same and you just don't see any increase in pressure on the pump's gauge?

Well ,obviously it gets harder to pump ...but pressure wont get above like 1200 lbs and the pump is getting pretty hot er maybe I should say warm.I dont want to roach the pump..its brand new .

If you get to 1200 and pump another 100 strokes it's still reading 1200?

I wonder if iam trying to top a full tank ?it took i would say maybe thirty pumps to get to 1000psi...er maybe a little less.

on a Talon tank from empty. Also FWIW, when I'm pumping a Talon tank to 3000lbs it takes most of my 145 lbs of body weight for each stroke for the last couple hundred pounds of pressure. If it's not this hard to pump, you're just pushing down with normal arm exertion, then you're not at a 3000lb fill.

Well, you are right about that...even with it on 1250psi I had to lean into it with all 188....but the guage refused to move and mr pump was pretty warm.

At the end of the pump stroke do you definitely feel it release and the charged air goes into the tank? Does the pump bottom out at the end of the stroke or feel likes it's still compressing and rebounding on the air? Does the pump handle stay down when released after the stroke or does it rebound upward?

Rebounding, non-bottoming out pump handle can be as simple as a clogged check valve. When it's gunked it doesn't matter how hard you press down...it won't open and allow the air to flow. If that's not the case then maybe you have a bad gauge, but I've yet to hear of that as a problem.

Staying tuned...hate you're having probs!
