I purchased a Optisan Viper 8-32x60 and used it successfully for some months. I was quite happy with it.

Then, it stopped focusing down to 10 yards. It would only focus down to 11.5 yards.

The very reputable dealer from whom I purchased it called the Optisan shop and then told me to send it in for repairs.

I mailed it in April, 2017 via USPS with tracking. It was delivered on April 20 to their repair address in LaCrosse, WI.

Since then, nothing. No contact whatsoever. Even the dealer can't get a phone call or email answered. Their voicemail is full.

Does anyone know what's going on with Optisan Optics in Wisconsin?

The contact there was Rich Stelhaug. Does anyone know Rich?

Please let me know if anyone knows anything about what's going on.

Thanks,
Randy Smith

Apparently OptisanUSA in LaCrosse,Wisc. has gone awol. Their phone is full, FB page inactive for 2yrs and no email. While helping Randy with his ordeal i called Trenier(really nice folks, btw) and was told that their last contact with them was in the Feb-Mar('17) timeframe. He said to try contacting Optisan.eu to see if they could possibly help. This is really a brutal deal for not only RS but for other Optisan owners as well.

"reconstructing" Optisan USA.

They may actually replace my lost scope. We'll see what happens.

Thanks for the assistance.

I have several of the 'original' optisan viper 3-12x and really like those scopes. Actually have a couple in storage that I've replaced with scopes that have a higher max mag for the shooting I do.

I tried 2 of the newer offerings and returned them both. Nothing repeatable about the clicks or sidewheel markings (again... for my style). Others have said good things but wasn't the case in my world. Still think the good history holds hope for the future.

Hope you get a scope back!

Just got a email from Lily at optisan.eu. She said they had been in contact with the optisanusa rep. and are in process of getting scopes to all those affected. Also said optisanusa is being "re-structured" whatever that means.
