Right now I'm using JSB's and holding 1/2 inch groups off my knee sitting on the steps of the deck. I have a cheap Centerpoint (4x12 ?) on it trying to destroy it but the darn thing has been holding up for nearly a year now. I had to put a UTG drooper on it. I may bend the barrel once the scope finally goes. I bought the 54 as a refurb and it is a fun shooter to be sure.

Hope this helps.

My 54 shot JSB 14.3 Exacts best. I had a RWS adjustable mount which was lock tighted in place and a Japanese Bushnell Trophy 4x12. It worked well.

Those RWS adj. mounts were the C-mount. No longer made. They pop-up on Ebay from time-to-time. BKL makes a good adjustable mount.

But I always wondered if adjustable mounts stay put on hard springers

The RWS adjustable mounts didn't have a very good reputation. I just mentioned them because that is what I had. I would recommend something else.

Favorite pellet is JSB 18

Using standard Hawke medium rings and a cheap UTG 3-9x. Trick is to use proper torque. 30 in-lbs on bases, 15 in-lbs on ring caps.

Have shot .50" groups at 50 yards, can't do it everyday but the gun sure seems up for it
