""Maniots, known for their martial qualities, were the first to join the Greek liberation movement. The society called the Filiki Eteria ("Company of Friends") sent their representatives Perrevos and Chrisospathis to organize the Maniots. On March 17, 1821, 12,000 Maniots gathered in the church of Taxiarchs (Archangels) of Areopoli and declared war against the Ottoman Empire. The flag of the revolution was white with a blue cross in the center. On top of the flag there was a sign, "Victory or death". The Maniots were responsible for writing "Victory" and not "Freedom" on their banner since Mani was always free. On the bottom of the flag lied an ancient inscription, "With the shield or on the shield."

Are you retarded or trying to be seen as a retard? This topic, news are all BS. There are many explanations in different topics but I know you don't read any sh1t, just having your fun... Believe what you want to believe idiots, live in your fantasy world. But remember, it won't save you from the current situation of your sh1t hole (Grease). Seriously, what they put in to your water there, how can you be delusional like this? In my first days in this forum I saw Türks using "delusion" word too much against Greeks and I thought they were just repeating the same thing over an over it was pointless. But as much time I took time in forum I saw the truth. You are delusionals.

The Kurds are laying siege on Semdili! The Turkish defenders are putting up a most gallant fight to protect this Turkish bastion against the Hordes of the barbarians! Like the Romans defending Orleans against the Huns!

They are repelling wave after wave of the enemy attacks! They are vastly outnumbered and outgunned, but they are holding out, against impossible odds!

I am glad the Turks admit that the "terrorists" have guts.
They have a lot more than that. They have the skill, they have the will, and they have the hearts and minds of the entire Kurdish nation backing them up.

The impressive thing is that the PKK is not conducting one of its usual raiding operations. No hit-and-run this time.

They confront the Turkish Army face to face, they attempt to take territory!

Of course they will have to withdraw at the end. But the objective is not to conquer a city. It is to break the moral of the Turks. It is to spit the Turkish Army in the face. And they achieved their target.

Gavur you idiot the only reason they are there for so long is because the government hasnt allowed the army to go in yet. they are bombarding the place at the moment i dont know for what reason they are waiting but i am sure they have a plan. the thing is that is not an induvidual attack it is part of a wider attack. They bear all factors in mind before they go in. Now PKK is cornered stuck, surrounded they keep losing men, getting tired, run out of supplies while our soldiers are chilling around. The moment our soldiers go in it will be over before you know it. Bordo Berrets will clear that area in a couple of hours. We have seen worse scenarios in the past where Bordo Berrets fixed the job in a matter of hours. so stop jerking off already

ottomandomination:

The Government has not allowed the Army to go in yet? Then whom are the Kurds fighting against? Their shadows?
Clashes have been going on for 14 days around Semdili. Just how much time do you need to crash the PKK men there?

You have always said "We cannot beat them, because they hit and run, they do not stand to fight, we cannot find them."
Behold now, they stand and fight, they offer you the open battle you were seeking. And what is the outcome ?

Where are the Bordo Bereli ? Scratching their balls and drinking coffee in their barracks in Ankara? Why dont they show up to clean up the mess in "a few hours" ?

just to clarify, the Seljuk Turks were 'persified' in other words heavily under persian influnce

same can be said for Kurds in SE Turkey today... heavily 'persified' by Iran

so history repeats itself

the Persians invade Anatolia again

now I repeat Greece MUST NOT get involved right now - Greece must wait until Turkey is worn down by others

I was thinking the exact same thing! The Seljuks surrounded the Byzantine cities one by one and captured them. The Byzantine civilians were forced to abandon the countryside due to the Seljuk constant raids. They concentrated into the cities in order to defend themselves better thus the Seljuks were left alone to rampage the country and eventualy surrounded the cities, starved the defenders out and finaly took the cities in their pocession.

The PKK is a big headache in the turkish southeast. Due to its attacks it is nearly impossible for the area to develop economicaly and prosper. This leads more and more people immigrating into the mainland in order to find work and live in peace while the rest who stay behind sympathize with PKK and many join its ranks. Slowly PKK is becoming bolder as its strength grows and now we have come to a point where it threatens entire villages and small cities. It is a matter of time due to the global economic crisis (which will strike turkey too) where PKK will get its chance to give turkey a big blow.
