Kashmir solidarity day observed in Malaysia

ISLAMABAD, Feb 3 (APP): Kashmir solidarity day was observed in Malaysia on Thursday to express solidarity with the Kashmiris of Indian occupied Kashmir and to call upon the international community to play its active role towards peaceful resolution of the Kashmir dispute.In this regard, a forum titled, Kashmir Solidarity Day was organized by the Global Peace Mission (GPM) and Muslim Youth Movement of Malaysia (ABIM) in collaboration with Pakistan High Commission in Kuala Lumpur.

The forum was attended by a cross section of the civil society including academia, students, teachers, business community and representatives of media and NGOs.
The messages of President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani were read out.
In their messages, the President and the Prime Minister reassured the Kashmiri brethren that Pakistan remains firmly committed to finding a just and peaceful solution of the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the aspirations of the people of Jammu and Kashmir and for full respect for their fundamental rights.
The High Commissioner for Pakistan in Malaysia Masood Khalid addressing on this occasion said Pakistan will continue to support the just cause of the people of occupied Jammu and Kashmir on moral, diplomatic and political grounds.

Kashmir issue has bedeviled peace in the region. India needs to fulfill its commitment to the international community and grant right of self determination to Kashmiri people to decide their own destiny, he said.
He called on India to stop human rights violations in the Indian occupied Kashmir.
Professor Dr Abdullah Al Ahsan from International Islamic University of Malaysia in his address explained the genesis of Kashmir dispute and emphasised the need for finding viable solution to Kashmir dispute under UN Security Council resolutions.

The Secretary General of ABIM, Haji Mohd Yasin Bin Hamzah said international community should play its due role in resolving issues like Kashmir and Palestine.
Julfitri Joha speaking on the occasion said that international media should be engaged to project Kashmir dispute in its proper context.

^ 100 % agreed .. Freedom Movements in NWFP, Balochistan, FATA etc will be successful .. one fine example is Ex. East pakistan aka bangladesh
