Recently, we had a discussion (and even a poll) on the forum concerning the developments on Mount Magazine. Mag is also a technical climbing area, so the Southeastern Climbers Coalition is interested and involved. There is a copy of the "preferred alternative" on their website for those of you who are interested. Note that the SCC recently had a cleanup day there, so that blurb is not what you're looking for - the alternative is at the bottom of the page. Stay informed.
