We made another go at Gannett this summer. Here's the link to our trip report. (I'll post it in the t.r. section too.) The link to the pictures is in the left column. I accidentally deleted most of the pictures taken with my camera, so the daily text might do a better description than the pictures. The day of the summit attempt was 7/5/07, if you want to skip ahead to that.

Mark, great report and congrats on making it to the top of Gannett. Gives me hope for a couple of years from now.

We're off to Philmont on Monday, so all we'll climb is Baldy, the highest peak in Philmont (you can see Wheeler Peak from there), but we'll do 84 miles in 10 days of backpacking, so I'll be doing more than the Gannett trip, distance-wise (albeit with resupply along the way).

Congratulations on making to the summit! It took me three tries as well to summit Gannett but it was worth it in the end. Nice trip report also. You did a great job at describing what it’s like to hike up the Glacier Trail and climb Gannett.

Thanks for the congrats. Like i said in the report, i don't think i really did anything better this time...just got good enough weather for a change.
