Thank you to all the highpointers who attended and celebrated our wedding and life in general with some great food and drink.

Of special note are the long distance travelers; Roger Rowlett from NY who didn't see the fine print about No Gifts; Nikki Hemphill from IN who always keeps her word; and Jean Trousdale from OK who managed to bring the HP Logo Suncatcher to CO unbroken.

Several other Board members were there as well as several 50 Completers. Dave & Beckie hosted many of them on Saturday night (while Kathy & I were being wed with just our parents & siblings).

Our friends and relatives had not met highpointers before and were Very Impressed at the unpretenious and likeable nature of this animal called "highpointers." It was a good time. Thank you for sharing the day with us!

Congratulations and best wishes, John and Kathy! So, will your honeymoon take you to the same place (Alaska) as your proposal?

My congratulations also!

My son and his wife, Tom & Hope Bennett, spent their Honeymoon making the third ascent of Mt. Nirvana, HP of the Northwest Territories. Hope was the first woman to climb the mt. Also in the expedition was Hope's Father-in Law (me), and Brother-in-Law. Romantic, huh?

When Ward Hobert and Beth Schlichter from Colorado got married, Beth threw a dart at a world map on the wall. The dart hit the rugged Torngat Mts., so they went to climb Mt. d'Iberville/Mt. Caubvick, the HP of Quebec & Newfoundland on their Honeymoon. At least they were alone.

Steve was the last highpoint to see us as un-engaged singles. He led us on a very enjoyable hike near Anchorage, and then we were off to Talkeetna where Kathy was subjected to The Big Question.

Honeymoon options include several national park highpoints which I need to survey for my upcoming guidebook. Wait! Work during honeymoon!?! Well perhaps Kathy might prefer Ireland during Christmas or somesuch romantic place....

.... now to look up the highpoints of Ireland ...

These are good stories Jack - - do you have photos? It seems that each month we get a letter from highpointers doing things matrimonial on highpoints; proposals, weddings, honeymoons, etc.

For the Club newsletter I started the backpage Love Photo which is suppose to highlight such romantic events (highpoints only - no prominence romance please ), but it seems we couldn't resist perverted "Dr. of Love" photo on the last issue. For the upcoming issue (to Post Office today?) we have another a rather distorted view of love. Maybe with the December issue we can get back to true romance.
