2nd attempt in 2 years. 5 day trip - a 2 day hike in to reach the base, an 8 hour grueling summit day, and 2 torturous days back out. This was about 10X harder than any of the 47 state highpoints I've done due to a bad knee injury on day 2 but I at least made it. If you're curious what it all looked like, here's the pics. Many congrats on completing the lower 48. Really enjoyed your pictures. Looks like you had the exact same agenda as I had during my 2012 Gannett climb with JHMG. Pretty sure my "taxi" ride was even in the same pick-up truck in which you caught your lift.
if you don't plan on attempting Denali, you should get a 48-state comletion plaque. My 50-state plaque came last week and it is really nicely done.
