Well, even though this has already occurred once before in the campaign, I can't help but be somewhat stunned to be granted a 1200 ton drop weight limit! Yowzer!

I won't go through the entire loadout of my mechs like I did last time, but I will go ahead and share which mechs and pilots I'm planning to bring in on this one:

-Dire Wolf (Widow Maker variant) - Ghost
-Dire Wolf (Custom variant) - Steel
-Dire Wolf (Custom variant) - Volaris
-Dire Wolf (Custom variant from mission 17) - Wicked
-Dire Wolf (Custom variant) - Wolfman
-Dire Wolf (Custom variant from mission 17) - Xenomorph
-Dire Wolf (Custom variant) - Payback
-Dire Wolf (Custom variant) - Meat
-Turkina (Custom variant from mission 17) - DeathFX
-Turkina (Custom variant from mission 17) - Gunner
-Executioner (Custom variant) - Psycho
-Executioner (Custom variant) - Rooster

So it's a total drop weight of 1180 tons that I'll be bringing in. With a total of eight Dire Wolves, I'm obviously erring on the side of armor and firepower over speed. It remains to be seen if that is a mistake. The pair of Turkinas are included due to their slight speed advantage, and the pair of Executioners are included for speed, scouting and fire support. All mechs have jump jets except for the Widow Maker, which does not include them in the variant.

I have Claymore, Nail, Nuke and Venom waiting on the bench, but as the mission briefing doesn't say anything about salvage craft being made available, I'm not sure if they'll get to see any action.

Yep, I love it! And I'll be doing some serious blasting, believe you me!

:atomrofl :rocketgif :firing :rocketgif :firing :atomrofl

I'm in mission now, and I just had to make a comment about the environment. Very nicely done, and unlike anything I've seen in MC2 before. GREAT job keeping the game fresh and different! Now to go find the enemy!

Here's a taste of what mission 25 looks like (or, another taste as Wolfman has already posted a screenshot). This is my crew before they get themselves shot up! Notice the 2 mercenary pilots. Those allied pilots joined me when I found their crashed dropships - some scripting magic provided by Wolfman.

Mission completed and yet another very enjoyable mission. I am really liking how the challenge level is ramping up in these later missions.

The Blood Asp II Sharpshooters are particularly lethal, with their 5 Clan ER PPCs! There were a couple of fights where I had 5 of these coming at me at once. One battle in particular I had 5 Blood Asp IIs and 3 Flashman, to really keep me on my toes.

The base battles were the highlights though. The first one was a good warm up, with 20 Firestarters and 2 Blood Asp IIs. It was a tough fight, but my 14 Ace pilots in Assault mechs clearly had the edge. The trick was to come through the fight without any of my pilots' mechs severely crippled, or worse.

The second base battle... now that was a fight. This one actually happened just outside the base. I first took out the Overlord C that was parked just outside the base, when the base defenders started moving on my position. I stayed where I was, as there was a good choke point I felt I could use.

In total, 20 firestarters, 10 Flashman, 2 Blood Asp IIs, 4 Hell Hounds and 2 Warhawks descended on my position. The tougher mechs came from the ledge above and jumped down on my position, while the majority used the path, entering through the choke point. They key here was to kill the enemies FAST, lest I be overwhelmed. They came on me in a pretty steady stream, but I generally never had more than 6 - 8 firing on me at once, due to how quickly I took them out. Heavier mechs generally received headshots, while lighter mechs just got pulverized by a flurry of weapon fire.

In between most of the major battles I repaired my mechs, and eventually destroyed all enemy forces in the area, including the drop ships. Another enjoyable victory!

Word to the wise: Do not shoot the MystRock!
