I'm still playing through this mission, but I wanted to drop a quick post to say how much I love the atmosphere in this mission. I really feel like I've landed in a beautful wooded area. Too bad it's filled with maniacal rebels!

By the way, I'm not sure if this is intended or not, but during the opening cutscene (before I had control of my mechs) my team was apparently attacked by a couple of ShaYus. I heard Ghost say "Reporting enemy forces reduced," and Psycho said one of his kill lines.

When I received control of my force, there were 2 smoking ShaYu chassis laying on the ground, and Rooster's Timber Wolf had taken some damage. No biggy, but perhaps this was not actually intended to happen this way?

It seems that a lot of your players are holding back their experiences and feedback. I intend to break that mold! :)

I encountered something that may warrant some attention in Mission 5. I happened to complete primary objectives 1 - 6 before objective 7, eliminate all enemy units. As soon as I completed those objectives, the customary ending cinematic fired, showing me the destruction of what remained of the White Rock HQ. This would seem to suggest that the mission is over at this point, but after the cinematic ends, I'm returned back to the misison.

I'm guessing that you actually had intended for cinematic to play after all 7 primary objectives were completed (or perhaps you had intended the eliminate all enemy units objective to be a secondary objective). At any rate, just doing my duty and reporting these things as I encounter them.

Another mission conquered. Another mission enjoyed. This one was a bit easier than some of the previous missions, which is nice for variety's sake in my opinion. It slowed down a bit at the end, as I was hunting around to mop up the stragglers, but these kinds of moments are expected in longer campaigns.

I got some great experience for my pilots here.

-Ghost is an Ace (has been for 2 missions now)
-Rooster is an Ace (he just got it during this mission)
-Well, of course, Xenomorph is an Ace, and an all around GODLY mech pilot. He received uncommon valor during the last 2 missions I used him. He's just a ninja!
-Psycho is nearly an Ace, at 76/80
-Wicked is now Elite, at 71/69
-Steel is Elite, at 70/73
-Payback is Elite, at 67/80
-Venom is nearly Elite, at 65/69

Meat and Nuke should hit veteran the next time I bring them in, and Claymore's not too far behind them. The rest... are the rest. :)

I miss Delta though. I hope I'll be seeing her again soon. I also wouldn't mind seeing Wolfman, Gunner, DeathFX and the other 2 uber godly mechwarriors from mission 1 again. I guess I'll have to wait and see if they're ever in the neighborhood again.

This was intended. Sometimes you are surprised by attacks when you don't expect them

It is a pleasure to have you as a gamer and reporter of achievements, glitches and your progress.

Thank you for being just that; I enjoy your feedback and learn for next campaign.

Got it. Just a thought here, but the impact of what you're going for here might work better if you time the surprise attack to start right when the opening cutscene ends, and at least triple the size of the attacking force. This way, as soon as you take control of your force, you're responding to an attack and getting into the action right away.

The way it is currently it's sort of like, there was apparently a fight, but the player completely missed it. You start the mission looking at a couple of smoking ShaYu's, but you don't necessarily know how they got there. I happened to pick up on my pilot's comments, but I'm think those could be easily overlooked.

Or if you want it be as if the "mechcommander" wasn't ready, and his pilots had to battle without his guidance, perhaps you could do the cutscene on the enemy locations, then cut to the mechwarriors as soon as they get attacked, but delay giving control to the player until after the battle.

I like your idea here, but my experience of it was a little anti-climatic, as I was looking at a sensor tower or something while it went down. And 2 measley ShaYu's against 500 tons of mech power isn't hardly anything to get concerned over. It's more like the ShaYu pilots were just tired of living.

--Note, I'm not trying to be critical here. My intent is to be constructive.

Now you went and did it. You encouraged me! It remains to be seen whether that was a good or a bad move!

But seriously, I appreciate that feedback from you. I figure, you spent countless hours of your free time creating these campaigns. The least the players can do is provide their praise, and when warranted, their constructive comments.

I know that I would hope for this in your shoes.
