‘The true secret of giving advice is, after you have honestly given it, to be perfectly indifferent whether it is taken or not, and never persist in trying to set people right,’ Akio could hear in his head. The voice sound like the voice of his cousin female voice. Her growled in his chest. ‘May you can be very annoying,’ he thought to himself has his hand balled up inside his jacket.

“So what did you think of the sweet treat?” He asked trying to clear his mind of the words that seem not to want to leave him alone. “So how do you like Hogwarts? What are your classes like? What’s your family like?” He fire off the questions like he was on fire. “Opps I did it again didn’t I? I’m always doing that. When I meet someone new.” Bunny hopping as they moved down the corridor. “You don’t have to answer it if you don’t want to.” He was jumping around Leona.

He was having a sugar high and he knew it. ‘No wonder mama kept me away from to much sugar,’ He thought has he bounced on the balls of his feet. “Am I bugging you? I can go away if I am,” he said. “I do seem to bug people to much.” He couldn’t seem to control how much he was talking and bouncing. His pale blue eyes looked like a stars in the night sky.

A silkily tight ring like curly of dark auburn haired girl was walking down the corridor with her nose in a book. She didn’t seem to notice things around her as she walked. Even the noise of those talking couldn’t even pull her eyes from the book. Turning a page in a old book as she rounded a comer she doesn’t see the bouncing Akio nor the person walking next to him.

The light from the windows bounce of her oval shaped face. Her face had seem to have a glow about her has the light from the sun that had hit her face. The pink in her short sleeve shirt and one of the ribbons accent the pale pink in her cheeks and her lips. The light golden brown that seems to shine against her eyelid was accent the brown in her hair ribbon. Her hair was pulled up into a high ponytail held there by pink, brown, and black ribbons. The black in her ribbon accent the black of her pants and open jacket.

For once the emotions that was normal rolling around her chest were calm and she was at peace as she walked toward Akio and Leona. Her own blue-green eyes seems not to have their normal haunt look because for once she was happy. There also a little spring in her step as she walked closer to what could be trouble.

It was absolutely adorable to see Akio hop around her like a cute little rabbit. His excitement reminded her of herself, which only added to the cuteness. Leona was beginning to find herself become very fond of the snake rather quickly, though this didn’t surprise her too much. The Hufflepuff often found herself becoming quite fond of several different people at a rather fast pace, and Akio would be treated no different. He was a fun little boy; one who clearly had problems in his life, but still seemed to be able to find a way to smile. It was simply admirable to see how quickly he had gotten over whatever had been troubling his mind in the library. Then again, perhaps it was just that he was so young that his mind was a bit more flexible and could easily toss away stressful things out of his conscious. If this was true, then that would have made Leona quite the jealous girl. Lately, she had been finding herself more often stressed out over silly things as opposed to being fully happy all the time. Honestly though, she wasn’t always happy. A good amount of the time her happiness was a bit of a fluke, though it wasn’t exactly hurting anyone, so Leona didn’t really care. It was lying in her eyes, no, it was just… her attempting to make herself happy. If she could keep a joyful face most of the time, perhaps one day it would be true? Not to say that it wasn’t often true, because, again, Leona usually was a very happy person, but it was becoming a bit hard to actually just be happy lately. Perhaps it was just the stress her father had been placing on her to do better in school…

Leona and stress often didn’t mix well together, so she at least hoped this explanation for her frequent unhappiness to be true. Although, it wasn’t even that she was unhappy… she was just, not as happy or content as she usually enjoyed being. Reasoning that she was just being over dramatic, the badger tried to force herself to listen to what the snake had been asking her. Not entirely sure about what he had said, or about what he was saying to her, the badger merely laughed loudly in response to the young boy. At the very least, she had caught his last statement clear enough. “Haha, no Akio! You aren’t bothering me at all.” Leona couldn’t help but smile at the boy as they continued to walk down the corridor. She wasn’t entirely sure where they were going, having already finished their ice cream and such, but she decided it didn’t matter. Where they wound up, she certainly would have a bit of fun.

“Sorry I tend to open my mouth in goes my foot. Life is a lesson you’ll learn it when you’re through,” he said as he danced backwards.’ Yesterday is history. Tomorrow is a mystery. Today is a gift. That’s why we call it the present.’ he thought to himself while he moved between hoping and dancing. He was watching her face. “So,” He trying to open his mouth. “Are you sure you don’t want me to stop? Aren’t I bugging you?”

Akio laughs has he hopes backwards. He wasn’t watching behind him when bumped into something solid and hard. “Ouch!” he said when his rear end hit the stone hard floor beside a dark auburn haired and middle olive skin tone girl. The girl to was on her backside with the book that had been in her hand behind her. Akio looked over at the girl while thinking ‘I really need to watch were I’m hoping,’ He noticed she was four feet tall compare to his five feet. ‘I can’t believe I hop right into my little cousin. Really smooth Akio idiot.’

“I’m sorry my fair angel,” he said has he stood up. “here let me help you up my angel.” The girl glared at him as if to say ‘Don’t call me that’ He chuckles. ‘I know I’m pushing it. But she seems to be in such a good mood and I want to see how far before she snap at me this time.’ He smirked down at her as if will her to take the remark and turn it back on him.

May was minded herself has she turned the page in the book she was looking at. She couldn’t heard Akio’s chatter a head of her. Her feet were moving but she wasn’t watching where she was going. ‘I love books yet I’m a Gryffindor,’ Her thought was. ‘I don’t understand how why the hate placed me in a house I don’t fit in with. I would rather have my nose stuck in a book then getting in to trouble. Though I don’t need help in that area. Never have. Trouble has a number on me. Now that Akio is here. I know I’ll have whole mess of trouble. He get’s me into trouble more then anything.’

She didn’t see Akio but she felt his hard body. A second later the air was flying by her as her rear-end and the book flew above her head. She heard “Ouch!” coming from the boy next to her. Looking over at him she came face to face with the person she been trying to hide from. ‘Oh great,’ she thought to herself. ‘Bloody hell I hope he didn’t eat to much sugar. I don’t know if I can deal with a hyperactive cousin today.’

“I’m sorry my fair angel,” he said has he stood up. “here let me help you up my angel.” May glared at him as if to say ‘Don’t call me that!’ she heard him laugh. Shaking her head as she stands up. ‘I swear he is going to get me into trouble. I swear he is a trouble in a boy form.’

“Don’t call me angel,” she said with a smirk on her face however she didn’t see the another girl. “Unless you don’t want kids in your future because I will gladly remove your family jewels. If you want to lose them then I will gladly go get the knife and do it right now.” Her arms were crossed at her stomach. “I’ve been meaning to remove those jewels of yours.”

Why was it that every time she blinked, something new and unexpected happened? One minute she had been having a nice stroll with her new little friend, and now all of the sudden there was talk of neutering the poor boy! Maybe she shouldn’t have left the library after all… At least back there, there wouldn’t be any risk of seeing anyone’s – uh, ‘jewels’ – being removed. Then again, if she had stayed in the library she definitely wouldn’t have been able to eat any ice cream… so… it was sort of a win-lose situation. The badger hadn’t actually seen what had happened between him and the person he had bumped into; all she knew was that they had apparently crashed into each other with enough force to actually knock the other down to the ground. She hastily went to pick the boy up, but quickly found that he had helped himself up. Akio began talking sweetly to the girl then, forcing Leona’s lips to curl up in an amused grin – it was so adorable how gentlemanly the young snake was acting to the other person. If only Sterling could be as friendly as the little Akio… then perhaps he would have more friends...

He – surprisingly – didn’t matter at the moment! What was important now was making sure that her new snake friend didn’t lose fertility before even reaching his prime. She recalled how worried he had been in the library about turning out like his father, but surely his desire to be different would help him actually be different with his own kids. Whether or not that would be true however, all depended on if the boy was even given a chance to have any kids of his own! Stepping closer to Akio, the badger reached into her pockets to find something she could trade in exchange for the safety of Akio’s… jewels. All she could find was a single cookie wrapped in saran wrap. It was a chocolate chip cookie that Leona had been saving to give to Sterling later that day; however she was fairly sure that he wouldn’t mind not receiving given that it could possibly save a little boy’s life. “Uhm,” the seventh year began, her hand lightly grasping the cookie in her palm,”Please don’t cut Akio. I think he needs those… um… ‘jewels’…” She paused as she felt her cheeks grow hot with embarrassment. Doubt filled her as she reconsidered the value of the thing she was trying to trade – was a chocolate chip cookie really worth a boy’s family jewels? The badger wasn’t entirely confident that it was, but she certainly couldn’t just keep quiet if there was a chance at all that it was. She shifted her gaze again from the cookie and onto the little girl, feeling a bit intimidated by the glare in the young child’s eyes. “Maybe you can take this cookie and we can forget this happened?” She asked hopefully as she held out the cookie to the little girl.

If she and Akio were lucky, the girl would take her offer. If they weren’t… well… it would probably have been best to just leave and hide…

Akio throw his head back and started laughing. “Will I see your learning the hints on how to chase boys off May,” He snickering as he smiled at May. “Though I’m not fond of my jewels being threaten little my dear little cousin.” She glares at him as if to say ‘shut up.’

He was hopping up and down again. May shakes her head and blows up her bangs. ‘I know I’m asking for trouble,’ he thought as he up and down. ‘Maybe I should haven’t had that much sugar.’ He couldn’t stopped jumping up and down because he filled with sugar. The smile was he had across his face has he looked at both his new friend and his little cousin. ‘Maybe it is a good thing to because I’ve been looking for May lately.’

“So where have you been hiding little angel?” he asked with a smirk. “I’ve been looking for you everywhere.” he looks over at Leona. “This is my younger cousin May. A cousin on my mom’s side. She was joking about removing my family jewels.” He heard May snorted. “It’s true.” he added out of the corner of his mouth to May. “OW! May that was my foot!”

May throws her head back laughing at the same time as Akio. “I wasn’t really going to take my cousin’s family jewels,” she with a snigger. “Yes, Akio I’ve learned from the best.” She scowled at Akio. “ You are only older then me by five months. No need to rub it in.” She looks over at Leona with a charming smile.

“Sorry about that sometimes this little frizzy ball tends to get a high when he get’s to much sugar in him,” she said standing on her tip toes and places her hands on the hoping Akio. “ How much sugar did you have?” She question him trying to stop him from jumping up and down. “If you don’t stop that bouncing I’m going to glue you to the ground.”

“Don’t call me angel,” she said. “You know perfectly well if I want to hide I can.” Crossing her lean arms. “Ugh must you be so much taller then me!” She step on his foot. “Oh sorry was that your foot? I’m terrible sorry. I don’t know what I was thinking.” she smirking at him.

Leona watched quietly as she waited for the girl to answer. To her surprise, it had been little Akio who had spoken up first. Apparently the girl he had bumped into was her cousin! Knowing this, the whole neutering business began to make a little sense... Though, honestly, Leona certainly wouldn't have joked around with any of her own cousins like that. It just sort of felt a bit mean in her eyes, but she supposed that everyone was different and handled things in their own ways. Still, the Hufflepuff couldn't help but feel the threat had been taken a bit too far. Regardless of how she felt, the witch was glad that Akio was safe and that there would be no illegal surgeries taking place in the middle of a hall. That surely would have been awful for the school's reputation, though it might have been an interesting story for the school's newspaper...

Shaking her head slightly, the badger willed away those silly thoughts as they were doing no good for her at the moment. She smiled warmly at the two younger kids, feeling a bit jealous as she noticed how close they seemed. Leona could recall being that close with her own cousins, Yana in particular was among the closest family members to the Spanish girl. It was a shame that it had been some time since she had seen her last, and seeing Akio and May together only made her miss Yana more. For a second she contemplated leaving as she didn't really feel like being there anymore, but in the end she decided to stay, finding that she would have rather stuck around and see if anything fun would happen to distract her growing displeasure.

It seemed as more time passed, this possibility for fun grew smaller as May began to responding to her cousin. The young girl appeared to be a tad sensitive about what the snake called, despite it being a sweet nickname. Perhaps something had happened that made the name sour to the little lioness? Or maybe she just didn't like angels. It was hard to tell given the badger had only spent a short time with the two, though she was fairly sure she could at least tell that the small girl appeared to be very cocky in the way she spoke to Akio. Leona wasn't sure if she really liked seeing such a trait on a cute little girl, though it was highly possible that Akio was merely pushing the girl to her limits. Either way the Spanish girl found it increasingly harder to urge herself to stay. Things were just getting a little too awkward for her to feel comfortable anymore, especially after the lioness had just gone and stepped on poor Akio's foot again. Unsure on what to say, Leona merely said, "It's nice to meet you May. I'm Leona."

May in a sudden fit of shyness she ducked behind Akio. Buried her face into Akio’s back as the heat rushed to her face. She was feeling very foolish because she hadn’t seen the other girl. ‘Great now she’s going to think I’m stupid. Just great.’ She thought has her face turned bright red even with her olive skin tone. The red tone was even running down her arms which were around Akio’s chest. ‘Just great.’

She couldn’t believe she had been caught joking and laughing with one of the few people she felt she could be her true self with. ‘I’ve always pushed people away because I didn’t want to hurt anyone else like I had been hurt. Those who get to close to me end up getting hurt in some form. I’m cursed. I’m surprised Akio is willing to stand so close to me,’ she thought digging deeper into Akio’s tone back.

‘I hope he can’t feel the heat coming off my body,’ She thought hiding deeper behind her cousin. Her heart was beating really hard with nervous she had in the pit of her stomach. She was surprised her stomach wasn’t ready to come back up. ‘Take a deep breath. Take calm deep breath. Don’t worry. Don’t freak! Wait until your alone to freak out!’

Leona was pretty surprised when the little lioness suddenly made a dash to hide behind Akio. The seventh year wasn't quite sure what to make of the little girl. A mere few seconds earlier she had seen what she believed to a powerful young woman, one who was a true Gryffindor with her boldness and her courage to tell the young snake off despite him being much larger than herself. Granted, it was her cousin she had been dealing with, Leona still had thought it praiseworthy to see one so young act so strong. For a second back then, the badger had wished she could have possessed an iota of the young girl's courage, as such a trait would have surely been of great use to her on several occasions. This had apparently been a fake sort of courage though, or, at least now it seemed to have been fake. Even with the young girl's body entirely masked by the larger frame of her cousin, the ruby pigment that tainted her arms were easily seen. What had happened to the powerful lioness Leona had seen moments before? Raising her nose, the badger sniffed the air to see if something had changed in their environment to warrant such a radical change within the young girl. It wouldn't have surprised the seventh year if there were a couple miscreants nearby enjoying some of that dragonweed she heard so much about. But... would a scent like that have really changed the young blonde's attitude? The thought sounded highly unlikely to the Spanish girl, though, you never could truly know when strange things happened. After sniffing the air a few times, Leona found that she couldn't smell much aside from the sugary aromas that likely emitted from her and Akio's lips, as they had consumed a bit more than was probably healthy of the sweet, sweet substance. Scratching the back of her head, Leona began to wonder if perhaps the young child had seen something frightening. Hazel irises scanned their surroundings for anything out of the ordinary - anything at all that a child might find concerning. When she found nothing, the badger couldn't help but wonder if perhaps she had simply suffered from a strange hallucination that had made the lioness appear to strong. She was probably wrong, actually, she was fairly positive this idea wasn't true, but she couldn't come up with anything better. Raising her hands to her face, the Hufflepuff rubbed her eyes gently and shook her head softly in an attempt to 'wake herself up' in case she had been hallucinating. When she was finished, she sighed softly and shifted her body to the side to sneak a peak of the hiding girl. The lioness really was quite cute, almost innocent looking as she buried her baby-like face into the back of her older cousin.

Clearing her throat as softly as she could, the badger attempted to relax her throat so she could talk to the girl in a quiet tone. "Are you okay May? Is something wrong?" The badger questioned, hoping that the girl would hear her softly spoken question. If she hadn't, then surely Akio would have heard her. Perhaps she should have asked the snake instead if his cousin was alright? She wasn't entirely sure, but since Akio was already acquainted with her, it might have been easier to get a response from him as opposed to his cousin. It was then that the Leona realized that that may have been the true source of the sudden change. May didn't know her, nor had she been introduced to her yet, so perhaps the young girl was simply uncomfortable with her? It wouldn't have surprised the badger if this was the real reason, though it did sort of hurt to consider this possibility, because, well, if it was true, then what did that say about the Spanish girl? It had to mean that she wasn't as friendly looking as she had previously thought, right? It was a disheartening thought, though very possibly. Leona liked to think of herself as approachable, especially since she could usually strike a conversation with many people and gain new friends easily with this ability. Was this seemingly failed encounter hinting at her losing her touch? Was she simply not as great at making new friends as she had previously thought? The badger sincerely hoped not, for if she couldn't make friends easily, then what would happen to her? Leona couldn't be without human contact, it was just impossible. She needed to have people around to interact with, even if it was a communication-less interaction, she still needed be around someone of her own kind to keep from truly losing her mind. Her head was beginning to ache now though, so quickly she silenced her thoughts as she ran a hand through her hair and waited for either of her two young peers to speak up and fill her in on what happened to May.

Laughter rolled deep in Akio’s chest as he felt the heat on his back from where his cousin was hiding. “She didn’t see you at first,” said Akio calmly. “She may have heard you but if she doesn’t see you then she doesn’t have a chance to be afraid.” He smiles. “I think she knows your friendly and all but will she think she cursed for some odd reason. I for one do not think she is cursed. I have been telling her for years that she is not cursed but she does not believe any of us in the family. She doesn’t even believe her own brother.”

‘No matter what I tell her,’ He thought sadly. “She’s very caring but I think deep down she afraid of being hurt again.” he said trying to get May out from behind him. “She hides I think to get away from the memories. She is hard working, loyal, intelligent, courage, compassion, stubborn, loner, temper, and most of all self-conscious.” He adds pushing back May’s sleeves on her loose fitting sweater on her right arm.

Her right hand and arm were covered in pale pink looking scar criss-cross. “Once her mind set in a mood she’s hard to shake herself out of it. Trust me I’ve tried in the past but I can be just as stubborn as her. Now May will you please come from behind me. Before you turn my back on fire.” he add the last part as a joke to May hoping that would pull her out.

Unsurprisingly, it was Akio who began speaking up first. The badger did her best to follow her little snake friend’s words, all the while keeping her gaze away from May. It was as Leona had assumed – May was frightfully shy. This brought some relief to the witch as it meant that she wasn’t scaring the girl by being herself, the young lioness was just too shy to talk with her. It was sad to see the young girl hide behind Akio in such fear. Leona wasn’t really sure of what she could possibly do to ease the poor girl’s worries though, so with a heavy heart, the badger merely uttered an “Oh, I see” to Akio and crossed her arms across her chest. She remained standing in front of the two younger students, simply watching as Akio attempted to remove his cousin from behind him. It wasn’t really clear if it would work, though Leona did try to remain optimistic. Normally the seventh year would have been all over the situation, done her best to try and ease the lioness out of her shell and suggest some sort of fun game or something for them to do, but there was something about the way the girl clung to her cousin that made Leona a bit hesitant to do anything. Her small arms were coiled around the snake, appearing as if the girl were trying to constrict the boy. If she was holding onto Akio that tightly, then surely there was very little Leona could do in order to bring her around. Still, the badger didn’t want to just stand and watch as her poor friend tried to help May…

Clearing her throat, Leona inched a bit away from Akio and the lioness, hoping that giving them some room would help bring some comfort in the situation. “May?... Akio and I had ice cream a little while ago… maybe you would like to get some too?” She suggested, hoping the girl had a sweet tooth and could be persuaded. Throwing a quick glance at the second year, Leona winked and smiled before saying, “I think Akio would like to get some more too, so… we all can go together.” Hopefully her suggestion would help the girl feel more comfortable around her, though Leona was fairly confident that adding in the fact that Akio would join them would only further help. Although… to be honest… the seventh year wasn’t entirely sure if she was up for eating anymore of anything. Her tummy had a dull ache to it, nothing too painful, but she definitely could do with a break from eating. Would her not getting anything to eat ruin her plan to befriend the tiny lioness? It didn’t seem too likely that it would, but she supposed there was always a possibility of anything happening. Mentally slapping herself, the badger realized that she was worrying over something that hadn’t even happened yet. Either May or Akio would have to respond to her suggestion first before she could worry about anything going wrong. Keeping a soft smile on her face, Leona uncrossed her arms and held her hands together in front of her, slouching her shoulders as did so and patiently waiting for her young companions to decide what to do next.

“I swear one of these days Akio Alvin Kyoto I am going to hurt you so bad that you going to walk with a limp,” said May with a slight smirk. She comes out from behind him. Her left hand came in connect with Akio’s right shoulder. “I swear one of these days I’m go hurt you so badly.” May turned toward Leona. “Sorry sometimes one of my old fears comes back to the surface. Akio does not need anymore sugar. I think he’s had enough. I don’t need a hyper cousin again.” She cleared her throat. “Beside I had a snack early. I’m not much of a sugar eater anyway.”

“I’ve seen you around. Your name is Leona Santos. A seventh year Hufflepuff if I remember right,” said May picking up her book. “No one noticed the little first year who hides. I’ve seen and heard things that no one should know.” May turned back to Akio. “Now how much sugar did you eat this time! I don’t want have you jumping up and down when you take me out on your broom because if your going to be a bunny I’ll go on one of the blasted school brooms. I’ve been the broom enough when your in this rush.”

May rubs her right wrist from when of those memories. “Don’t you think I’ve got enough scars. I don’t you to give me anymore with your broom skills. Your good on a broom but with that sugar rush I don’t think so,” She said flicking his nose. She heard Akio squeals as she turns back to Leona. “Can you fly?:

“You love me to much to do something like that,” he said. ‘I hope.’ Pulling a face when May said his full name. ‘ Oh why did they have to call me that!’ He thought sourly to himself. “Ow. You know I really hate that your brother taught you how to hit.” he adds rubbing his shoulder. “I’m just glad it your hand and not the beater bat like the last time.”

“A fair among,” he said. “Enough that I’m hyper. I wouldn’t drop you this time. You would think I would do something like that again. Your brother is scare enough. It’s wonder how you’re a Gryffindor and he’s was a Slytherin.” He crossed his arm. “How you end up in Gryffindor is the biggest questions in everyone mind in our family. We all thought for sure you would be one of the Ravenclaw.”

“I haven’t given you any scars,” he said. “Ow what must you flick my nose like that May. You know that get very annoying.” His left hand covered his nose against another attack. ‘My goodness she can be a great pain.’ he thought to himself.
Whose idea was this?

Leona stared at the small Gryffindor nervously. The way she had spoken to her made it seem like she knew something. What that was...Leona couldn't tell, for May hadn't lingered on the subject for long. Soon the first year was back onto sending threats at her cousin, scolding him about his sugar rush and flicking his nose as if he were a misbehaved puppy. Leona couldn't focus well on the little girl's question, what with her mind mulling over what she had meant with her statement. The badger didn't have a lot of secrets, but there were things about her that she didn't really want people to know... Even so, the two cousins seemed to be off in their own little world, teasing each other like Leona supposed cousins did. She hardly ever teased her own cousins though, so she wasn't really familiar with such behavior.

Shuffling her feet, the badger looked down at May and said, "Um. Yes, I can fly alright I guess...." It had been awhile since she had last practiced, but it was a bit hard to completely forget how to ride a broom. Usually all she needed was a few minutes to prepare herself, practice a bit, then she was fine. She took note of May’s response to her – apparently the little girl didn’t like sweets. The very thought of there being anyone who wasn’t a big fan of treats was unheard of to the seventh year. She, of course, had one of the biggest, most sensitive, sweet tooths around, and so she was a bit biased on the matter. But with May unwilling to go to the kitchens and get something sweet to eat, the Hufflepuff really wasn't sure what else she could do at the moment. It seemed to her that, while she had made some progress and may had gone so far to ask her a question, the air surrounding the three was just a bit too awkward for her to handle anymore. Scratching her cheek nervously, Leona shifted her gaze to the floor and said, "I think... I should be going to my room now. I'll need to write that letter to my father, Akio..." Her dad would no doubt throw another fit if Leona chose not to write to him what she had done in the library, so perhaps it was a good thing the snake and her had bumped into May. Now Leona could leave Akio and not worry about leaving him entirely alone. With May, Akio was probably safe. Probably. That aside, Leona was hopeful that she would see her friend again, and... perhaps a more happier, brighter May? She could only hope. "Good bye Akio! And May!" She said as she turned around and headed for her room.
