Kieran felt his eye twitch a bit as Wyatt completely ignored his suggestion. Well, honestly what were they supposed to do? Kieran's natural inclination for tracking was either going to lead them straight out, or get them intentionally lost. He couldn't turn it off. The only way for them to have a natural path through the maze was for someone else to lead. Maybe a race would be interesting but he couldn't leave Lydia behind just for a foot race. Lydia's hand slipped out of his, and the lion, for the briefest moment, believed this to be his love's way of telling him to go ahead with the race. However, the feeling in the air took an awkward turn and he knew in an instant that Lydia was not happy with the way this was going.

An odd sound in the air caused Kieran to turn around to look at the two lioness behind him. Was it snowing behind him? What kind of maze was this? He finally realized that it was in fact popcorn falling in slow motion in front of him, framing perfectly the flash of red that was now locking lips with his girlfriend. A wave of conflicting emotions crashed against the brunette's heart, fighting within himself for what he should feel. Girl-on-girl action was supposed to be sexy, right? If that was the case, why was it taking everything he had in him to not reach into his pocket and hex the ever-loving crap out of Blyssenor?

When the two girls parted, Kieran immediately moved towards Lydia, brushing popcorn out of her hair and off her shoulders, and took her hand back. He managed to keep himself from glaring daggers at the smaller of the two Gryffindor girls, but he couldn't help but flush red at the thought that his girl had been kissed by another girl in front of him and his two friends. It was embarrassing to him, somehow, that he wasn't enough for Lydia. He already knew that the girl was too good for him, but she seemed happy with him, at least until now. His generally happy demeanor fell apart to his feet, and much quieter than he normally would speak, said, "You guys can race if you want. I don't feel much like running right now."

  • Landon was similar to a dog, in a way; more accurately, a lost puppy following close to the heals of the first person it grew close to or got affection from. Wyatt couldn't say he'd shown Landon and real modicum of affection, or even companionship for that matter, but the Badger seemed to be hanging on every word Wyatt said, jumping at every opportunity to agree with him, all, he presumed, in the name of getting on Wyatt's good side, which was strange seeing as Wyatt only had to sides, and they were very distinct. If you were on Wyatt's bad side, you would know. There would be no confusion or second guessing. But, Landon was trying so hard it was obvious. Wyatt could almost feel Blyssenor catching on like it was some kind of odor they were giving off. With that said, Landon once again agreed almost too quickly, which made Wyatt practically recoil. However, he wouldn't have to deal with the burden of trying to change topics or divert attentions as Blyssenor provided the perfect escape...for everyone.

He turned on his heels, eyes previously fixed on Landon now facing the lionesses as they locked lips, having caught them out of his peripheral. Eyes widened, head craned forward, and jaw threatened to drop. By the time the kiss was broken, Wyatt was already in the process of slow clapping. Yes. Audible, loud, clapping sounds burst from the collision of Wyatt's open palms; a slow tempo showing both his mock-excitement, genuine amusement, and authentic confusion. What the hell just happened? He didn't know, but suddenly Kieran didn't want to race anymore. Wyatt subconsciously took the now squashed race idea as a result of Kieran's declined mood and not his own discomfort with... Landon agreeing to everything so damn quickly.

"Yah sure, Blysse? Looks like you wanted Lydia a bit more than the popcorn." He held back a snicker.</li>

  • One might think that three teenage boys would find the sight of two teenage girls kissing quite attractive, but that wasn't the case. For Landon, the sight offered him nothing except a distraction from the current task of navigating the maze and looking at Wyatt. He was a bit put off by the fact that Blyssenor had wasted his entire bowl of delicious popcorn too. Kieran didn't want to race, and Wyatt was the only boy there that seemed to actually enjoy the encounter between his housemates. Landon gave Blyssenor an almost disappointed look. She knew how Kieran would have reacted to her making out with his girlfriend. The badger glanced at Kieran, watching the boy's face flush red. He was angry now. This wasn't going to lead to anything good for the rest of the evening, so Landon intervened.

"Well." he said, contemplating the situation. "If it would make you feel better Kieran, you can kiss me. I won't mind." Landon laughed, trying to cheer his friend up. Kieran was one of Landon's favorite people, and seeing him upset like that made Landon upset too. He knew the boy wouldn't take him up on the offer, but the humor behind the badger's words hopefully would cheer Kieran up a bit and make things slightly less stressed between the five of them. There was no chance that he was trying to make Wyatt jealous in the process, though. None at all.

It was disconcerting to the badger how Wyatt reacted to the kiss. The fact that he seemed so interested in the girl on girl action planted a seed of doubt in Landon’s mind. Maybe he really was straight. Maybe this whole ‘Wyatt might be secretly gay’ thought process that had been plaguing Landon’s mind for the last few months was all just a façade he was using to justify becoming friends with him. He crossed his arms as he thought, watching each of the four lions in turn. Someone needed to change the atmosphere of the group before Kieran had a meltdown, Wyatt died of taking second place to Kieran’s tracking skill, or Lydia and Blyssenor decided to start proclaiming their love for each other.

"So. Now that we're done with that…" Landon said, contemplating his words. "Isn't this maze supposed to move or something? Change paths and stuff?" he asked, trying to change the subject. "Because that would make things a bit more fun. It would be easier to get lost, that is."</li>

It was mind-boggling when you stopped and thought about it all.

There were days when it seemed that Lydia was under some sort of spell that made her a magnet for every sort of awkward situation. Whether it was the drug-induced kissing of her fellow housemate, Damien Vein, in the prefect bathroom - another mishap orchestrated by her best friend and now accidental kissing cohort, Blyssenor Wright - or... well, every interaction she had ever had with a Slytherin, it simply seemed impossible for the Gryffindor to go a week without some bit of humiliating silliness. But this... THIS was a whole new level of weird. No, it wasn't even in the same ballpark. It was some new brand of absolute insanity that was born into existence the second Blysse's lips had touched hers - an awkwardness so novel, so newfangled that no dictionary or thesaurus in the world would be able to describe just what it was. Seriously? Seriously? One minute before, the lioness had been feeling perfectly normal. A bit miffed at the non-stop bickering between the boys, yes, but...her feet were on the ground, so... that was good. But now... Lydia didn't know what to think now. She didn't know what to feel. Did she feel anything? What was even going on?

The girl stood there for a moment in complete silence, a look of surprise seeming permanently etched on her face. Her brain hadn't even registered that Blysse's lips had touched hers until the redhead had already taken a few steps backward. As her thoughts raced to catch up to the present, the brunette remained tense, her eyes still wide as she stared off into unfocused space. The reality of the moment - the fact that Blysse had kissed her - finally sank in and immediately blossoms of scarlet colored Lydia's face and neck. Kieran's fingers wrapped around hers and that simple touch, that gentle reminder of his presence anchored the fifth year, tugging her back to the moment at hand and keeping her from free-falling into the chaos of her thoughts. Lydia stepped back, closing the distance between her and Kieran even more. What was she supposed to say? The center of attention was not where the lioness preferred to be, but now it seemed as though even the stalks of corn were staring at her, waiting for some sort of reaction.

Cheeks still blazing red, Lydia squeezed Kieran's hand gently, leaning carefully against his frame. "It doesn't matter to me what we do," she finally mumbled. The brunette didn't care what they chose to do - get lost, not get lost, conjure up a trampoline and jump over the walls - all the witch cared about at that moment was moving the attention away from her and then to hide in some shadowy corner for awhile. Not literally. Well... an actual dark corner wouldn't be so bad either. "I don't know if the walls are supposed to move." Shrugging, Lydia turned and kissed Kieran's cheek gently, watching the sixth year closely, trying to figure out what he was thinking.
