Most Comfortable Absorber For Wira 1.5

Need some experts or experienced opinions.
First of all,...I am getting old and I am looking for most comfortable ride.
I am driving 1.5 manual Wira year 2000.
I had changed to APM absorber 2 years, the damping is horrible,...over uneven road surfaces, its rebound is too quick, not absorbing alot.
Over ripples or potholes, very stiff.

1. What is the original absorber for year 2000 Wira?
If i can recall the original stock absorber was way more comfortable

2. Is Monroe Sensatrac the most comfortable for a Wira 1.5?

3. Is ride quality mostly affected by absorber? How about the coil spring? After so many years will it wear out?

Hope I can really get a very good clue from all. Thanks. :) :)

After reading the Kayaba vs APM vs Monroe thread I ended up getting very confused.
It seems Monroe is the choice for comfort...

Then some say Sensatrac more comfort than Reflex.

While others say Reflex more comfort than Sensatrac...

I really need help now

i think maybe u are experiencing bumpiness.. not stiffness...

the most comfortable setup would be stock spring with stock absorber..

u cannot expect superb damping with super comfort setting..

so far i only find one after market setup that is quite comfort and better handling than stock settings. Damping over bumps is superb too. This setup is the Improve Comfort + stock springs.. I have sold many sets of these shocks to wira SE owners... even myself also like it.. n i'm going to get this combination soon too.

monroe sensatrac shocks are stiffer than stock... u might not like it as u might experience the bumpiness on uneven road or yellow strips...

on the other hand... if ur springs have sagged especially the rear ones... it will affect the comfort level and the reliability of the shocks as well...

just to share from my experience of using n selling suspension all these years...

So which aftermarket brand combination are you referring to?

And,...if the rear spring sagged already,....how much does the replacement spring costs?

Will intro myself shortly..

Thanks for your input

Every wears out eventually. An 8 year old car probably means your springs are as good as dead.

Originals are from Kayaba. But ori Kayaba nowadays is buatan M'sia and has been known to die very fast. Give and take RM80 to RM100 per piece.

Monroe reflex is comfortable. Slow rebound, so expect zero performance feel. Give and take RM120 per piece.

Monroe sensatrac is more or less the same as reflex. Maybe a bit stiffer. Give and take RM120 per piece

Original Proton WiSE springs full set RM400++. Original 1.5/1.6 should be cheaper a little bit.

PM Khguan and Drexchan about the Improve, or just check out the Automotive Genesis thread. They are our WAC merchant so we get pretty good deals from them. Improves are OEM replacement abs plus a little spice. They are comfy for sure but work a little better than Kayabas in terms of performance but still aren't meant for hard cornering.

if yr looking for springs, I still have a 1.5 year old Satria 1.3GLi springs with me but can only confirm when I balik kampung. It's not with me now and it's painted in red. I think the Satria's spring sud be similar to Wira's.

nop.. satria springs are not meant for wira... the rear springs are softer... even for GTi also the rear springs are softer than wira rear springs..

The improve comfort shocks are RM650 with installation. You get a stable ride without sacrificing the ride comfort. Makes your car feels firm and solid.
