Option to set a passcode in Pitside in order for the App to link to Pitside. This would eliminate the possibility of other people accidentally (or purposely) linking to your Pitside IP, messing up your data stream.

Additionally, being able to manage Pitside-to-App links from within Pitside, so you can delete errant cars from your data stream if you don't enable the passcode.

As it is now, if a driver links to a Pitside from another team, his data will be transmitted to the wrong Pitside, intermixing with the other driver's laps (right?.) If you had to enter a unique passcode in order to begin transmitting to Pitside, the possibility of getting someone else's data would be eliminated or at least minimized.

I think this will certainly become an issue as more teams start using wifiLapper at the track.
However, if pitside goes multi-car the issue won't be with corruption of the data-stream.
It will have more to do with access to information you may not want teams to know (either out of strategy or embarrassment) and resources (disk space, bandwidth, etc.).
Either way, some sort of simple security would be a good thing to have. I think encryption and/or key sharing might be overkill, though. :)

This could really be as simple as having the phone identify itself somehow, and having a dialog on pitside saying "Droid 1 (car 39)" is trying to connect to pitside. Do you want to allow this phone?

Yeah! Then the driver doesn't need to do anything.
