According to the bible; the inerrantly true word of god, bats are birds, and, as the bible claims, birds and insects go upon all fours, no really, and, the bible also says, that ... here goes ... camels do not have split hoofs, and, the bible doesn't stop there, no way, it goes on asserting, that ... wait for it ... hares and coneys chew the cud (and something about a talking donkey too - Numbers: 22:28-30 KJV).

Since the bible is inerrantly true, all those bats and birds and camels and hares and coneys (and donkeys) --we can readily observe, providing us with, you know, that blasphemous empirical evidence-- are obviously doing the things they do just to fool us humans, but only, of course, when we are looking.
Yeah, animals are a funny lot, aren't they?

Leviticus 11:1-6 -- 13-23 (KJV)

1And the LORD spake unto Moses and to Aaron, saying unto them,

2Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These are the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that are on the earth.

3Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, and cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.

4Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: as the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

5And the coney, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

6And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.

(...)

13And these are they which ye shall have in abomination among the fowls; they shall not be eaten, they are an abomination: the eagle, and the ossifrage, and the ospray,

14And the vulture, and the kite after his kind;

15Every raven after his kind;

16And the owl, and the night hawk, and the cuckow, and the hawk after his kind,

17And the little owl, and the cormorant, and the great owl,

18And the swan, and the pelican, and the gier eagle,

19And the stork, the heron after her kind, and the lapwing, and the bat.

20All fowls that creep, going upon all four, shall be an abomination unto you.

21Yet these may ye eat of every flying creeping thing that goeth upon all four, which have legs above their feet, to leap withal upon the earth;

22Even these of them ye may eat; the locust after his kind, and the bald locust after his kind, and the beetle after his kind, and the grasshopper after his kind.

23But all other flying creeping things, which have four feet, shall be an abomination unto you.

Bonus:

Titus 1:10-16 (KJV) is rather interesting too.

unclean beasts that we can't eat if we know we are Israel:

metaphor of chewing cud and splitting hoof

Lev 11:2 Speak unto the children of Israel, saying, These [are] the beasts which ye shall eat among all the beasts that [are] on the earth.

Lev 11:3 Whatsoever parteth the hoof, and is clovenfooted, [and] cheweth the cud, among the beasts, that shall ye eat.

those hoofs that are clovenfooted are ok to eat:

clovenfooted is shaca (divide, split, tear in two, rent): Here we are looking at 'SPLIT FEET' and in Judaism the FEET (like those shod with the gospel of peace, or those who are wearing leather/beasts) represent the "mind" that is either carnal or SHOD with the gospel: Moses was told to take of his sandals for he was standing on HOLY GROUND: John the Baptist said of Jesus that he was not even worthy to loose his shoe laces:

the mind has to be half in half or it isn't CLEAN; These are carnal/animal minds that are at least DIVIDED enough to know both sides of the soul: Jesus washed the feet (mind or animal soul) of the disciples even though their upper soul or heart was clean because of the WORD: still the mind needs a daily washing by the water of the word:

we are to do this for each other...but it is impossible if the WORD is not at least in the heart.....to rid us of unclean feelings and thoughts:

this is like the CLOVEN tongues of fire: meaning the tongue is bringing forth the results of the FIRE BAPTISM by the HOLY SPIRIT even though it is still speaking carnal things as well: Jame warns of this dualism, but at least there is dualism and not just one way of seeing, carnal only:

the other thing that makes a clean animal that Jews are allowed to eat is the chewing of the cud

cud is "gerah' or rumination; eats twice

gerah is from garar which means 'drag away, or sawn assunder, roaring, scraping

in plain words it means those who have the WORD In their heart along with the HOLY Spirit in order to RID THEM Of the "SIN" nature, (body of sin that has to be destroyed after the old man is crucified with Christ); these are considered clean before God even though they continue to sin because in due time the "mind of Christ" will drag the sin away; ridding them of carnal desires/beasts: This is why Peter is told to KILL and EAT and call nothing unclean that the LORD calls clean:

For those who only CHEW ONCE or don't have split shoes (only one way of looking at things and that would be the carnal or beastly, SENSUAL way, these are not clean to eat:

Lev 11:4 Nevertheless these shall ye not eat of them that chew the cud, or of them that divide the hoof: [as] the camel, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he [is] unclean unto you.

the camel is also the Poor man or poor in spirit:(like John wears camel skins in the wilderness); so he has been cleansed from carnal desires in his heart, but not till his mind was no longer divided till he BEHOLDS THE LAMB that takes away the SIN Of the WORLD and is beheaded is he clean completely, heart and mind: that is why he said he had to decrease so Christ (in him) could increase

How convenient.

BTW, it's not about the animals themselves as such, it's what is being claimed about the NATURE of those animals.

It's quite understandable therefore, you'd rather not address it.

If you have nothing to address it with, what else can you do?

Point proven really. After all, when ardent believers -in whatever- are confronted with incontestables they either go silent; more illogical; in denial, turn dishonest; abusive, even absurd ..... or any combination thereof, and cannot seem to help themselves but advertising it, therewith granting the courtesy of instant clarification

Thanks for your affirmation.

... you've got that the wrong way around - as per your ever so present habit, thereby confirming what was posed:

Than taking it literally. Thanks Yvonne.

It is great to have you, Lox and JB around to give some insights into true Christianity, not just the Outer Mysteries, but the Inner Mysteries -- which are what true Christianity is and was about, in my view.
