The whole body is being donated to science.
No Box.
No Plot.
No Headstone.
No Expense.

Gather together, if you must.
But...
Don't cry for Me, Argentina.

It's a crime. Can it REALLY cost that much? Really?

I understand bringing a new human into the world is expensive, and worth it to make sure the child is healthy and safe using our advanced medical science... but getting rid of a dead body costs $8000?

I want to be laid to rest like my ancestors in stoneage Europe, and it will only cost under $100.

Build a funeral pyre from fallen trees in the forest where my lake home is, put my carcass on it and light it on fire.

A couple hours of my family and closest friends' time. The $100 will be for the beer they will be drinking as they watch my borrowed matter return to the Universe.

I like that.

Bring hotdogs and marshmallows too.

Because they might just finish you off before your real time comes ... to get organs or to get fresh meat for inspection.

... my State government won't allow it because they want their cut of the taxes.

Perhaps if I made a deal with the government? I'll give the State the 7% they would normally take from the mortuary, and my friends and family can light me up on a funeral pyre. The mortuary can't demand money from me, but the State can.

Mondo said: Bring hotdogs and marshmallows too.

Fine with me, as I will be dead, my consciousness already non-existent, and my part in this will be as fuel for the fire...

... but perhaps my family and friends would wish to light a separate fire for their funeral meal?

I would.

... never be an organ donor thru the State, as they put that information on your drivers license.

Emergency medical techs, won't try to save you... they're looking for parts!

"Hey Bob, forget the respirator, this guy's an organ donor!"

Never sign an organ donor card until you're at least 70.

But $15,000 was for her helicopter flight to St Cloud hospital, about 90 miles away.

But still, Cremation and funeral costs were $12,000!
