"A man attracts the kind of problems he has because of the kind of person he is. His negative nature duplicates itself outwardly, wherever he goes. A quarrelsome person inevitably finds himself quarreling with others. A person feeling that others will take advantage of him will actually find himself being taken. Those who reject the psychic facts of life have no choice but to encounter one rejection after another.

You do what you are. To change what you do, change who you are."

~Vernon Howard

Certainly seems to be the case. Okay, a bit of a "no brainer". Quarrelsome people quarrel.

Agree Mondo. We seemingly attract the situations and people that will prove to be helpful to our development. In turn, this points to an intelligence that is 'loose' in the universe and not directed by a human being

The last sentence says:

"You do what you are. To change what you do, change who you are."

Kind of like the Bible, "as a man thinketh, so is he".

That is, to some degree we create our own reality. I used to be a negative person in my teens, prone to depressive feelings and all that goes with it. At some point in my late 20's I chose life .. becoming more positive, and as "luck" would have it, being positive brought positive results. Although that isn't to say bad things never happen.

But 5 years ago I said NO MORE!!!! Being taken advantage of from industry nor persons.

I am not quarrelsome unless you disagree with me! just kidding....

Live and let live, that is my motto, just don't be a contentious bitch like Gerard. Oops, I mean contentious man like Gerard.

I shouldn't talk about Gerard because I think he has deep problems. Problems I may not understand. And things he will no talk about, nor acknowledge to himself.

Ya, its a no brainer Mondo. Until you can see it threw their eyes.
Then you begin to see and feel the pain and fear and intent of the words spoken/written.

Mondo I know Gerard as a friend and Brother. But you Mondo show NOTHING of being personable, your just the MEDIAN of what you see as right and wrong.

I say Personalbility is right!
If you ain't personable what do you have? Shit from strangers that is all you can gain.

Don't be afraid to be a human!

Are you afraid to be human, who ever you are? Why?
Are you afraid no one will see you as a common friend?

GOD loves you from what I can see.
No matter who you think you are or any name or place GOD loves you for who you are.

Then you're right, I'm not personable.

Live and let live. Sounds good to me.

"Live your values".

That's one to ponder on. Live your values. We often consider ourselves to have certain values, but perhaps don't always live them. I think that is a source of unhappiness, to not live up to our own expectations of ourselves.

Be at peace Tim. Everything is going to be alright.

You do what you are, and get what you give - when you do what you always did, you will get what you always got.

For instance, if we find that we dislike someone, we may decide that (s)he doesn't like us (in effect responding to social norms which dictate that 'people should all like each other and get along').

By deciding that this person doesn't like us, we can justify our decision not to like him/her, thereby setting ourselves up for a self-fulfilling prophecy because most people end up disliking the people who dislike them, even if they didn't start out that way.

It's a mechanism of a defensive nature by which someone attributes thoughts, feelings, and ideas which are perceived as undesirable by and in self, to another.

So, when we listen to what people say, that is, if we note the adjectives they use to describe others; we will begin to see they aren't telling us about the others, they are telling us about themselves.
