1. This beats the Vancouver vs Medicine Hat series by a big comparison because unlike that series which both teams knew they would continue there is a team done after this series. (NO HOST TEAM)

2. Shaw TV

Get to see all the games. This is big as didn't see any other playoff series till they came on board in 2005 unless my team was involved.

3. Game Sevens (All time - WCHL & WHL)

1974-75 New Westminster Bruins over Saskatoon Blades (Four games to three)

Game one - Saskatoon 5 @ New Westminster 3
Game two - Saskatoon 5 @ New Westminster 1
Game three - New Westminster 2 @ Saskatoon 1
Game four - New Westminster 5 @ Saskatoon 4 (B. Beck scores :19 left in third)
Game five - New Westminster 2 @ Saskatoon 3
Game six - Saskatoon 1 @ New Westminster 4
Game seven - Saskatoon 2 @ New Westminster 7

1975-76 New Westminster Bruins over Saskatoon Blades (Four games to two with one tie)

Game one - Saskatoon 0 @ New Westminster 7
Game two - Saskatoon 3 @ New Westminster 6 (Pacific Coliseum)
Game three - New Westminster 3 @ Saskatoon 10
Game four - New Westminster 3 @ Saskatoon 9
Game five - New Westminster 7 @ Saskatoon 5
Game six - Saskatoon 3 @ New Westminster 3
Game seven - Saskatoon 1 @ New Westminster 3 (New West wins 8 point series)

(Could have been additional games if game seven was a tie)

1980-81 Victoria Cougars over Calgary Wranglers (Four games to three)

1986-87 Medicine Hat Tigers over Portland Winter Hawks (Four games to three)

1991-92 Kamloops over Saskatoon Blades (Four games to three)

1992-93 Swift Current Broncos over Portland Winter Hawks (Four games to three)

1993-94 Kamloops over Saskatoon Blades (Four games to three)

2006-07 Medicine Hat Tigers over Vancouver Giants (Four games to three)

My personal rankings:

1. Edmonton vs Portland
2. Vancouver vs Medicine Hat
3. New Westminster vs Saskatoon (First time)
4. New Westminster vs Saskatoon (Second time)

The third and fourth are plugs because didn't see any other series!!!

The 1983-84 final between Kamloops Oilers and Regina Pats was the best that I remember.
Evason tied game 6 with 12 seconds remaining to force OT - and then Ryan Stewart scored to force Game 7 at Memorial Arena. Awesome.

Went quickly by the league guidebook this morning before having to leave. The New West - Saskatoon ones I have the scoring summaries for so I was able to put down those scores.

Any hockey back then compared to this playground hockey was better. The only real physical play now is after whistles. It's sissy hockey.

The 2007 Van-MH series is still the best in my opinion. Knowing that they were both going to the Memorial Cup anyway, both teams could have mailed it in instead of fighting tooth and nail and taking it all the way to double OT in game 7. The series was also 2-3-2, MH came back home down 3-2 and had to win game 6 to force game 7. I will never forget the fog-bowl, and the way the roof shook with cheering when Bosch scored the OT winner.

Both clubs left it on the ice. And it was overall better but I prefer a team losing the series being totally done. Giants knew they had another crack at the Tigers after losing the series but the emotion from the Winter Hawks today after losing game seven was what was missing from that series. It will always be a bother to me that there is a back door and Wilms and Dan did mention it during the game today that unlike 2007 some team (Oil Kings or Winter Hawks) were finished after today. If the 2007 series wasn't a back door series I would still rank it higher by a wide margin. As is it is close second. The 70s Bruin run was great but the fact the road games were not on the tube and even for several of those seasons not even on a radio station meant you only saw half the games and only found out the results on the late sportscast or worse the next day in the newspaper.
