could be a hand full of punks, many of whom are not even from Vancouver, represent and stereotype a group of nearly three million people....

Or you could look to folks like Terry Fox, Cam Neely, Greg Moore, Joe Sakic, Christine Sinclair, Rick Hansen and Steve Nash. Not to mention Nickleback (for you PC), haha

Your using a mighty broad brush bud...

Steve Nash - Victoria
Rick Hansen - Born in Port Alberni, Grew up in Williams Lake
Cam Neely - Comox
Greg Moore - Maple Ridge
Joe Sakic - Burnaby
Christine Sinclair - Burnaby
Nickelback - Langley
Terry Fox - Born in Winnipeg, lived in Poco

So not one of them represent Vancouver either, they do represent BC though.

thats it? I guess the riot-punks from Surrey and Burnaby and Alberta dont contribute to Vancouvers rep then? Gimme a break, even little pukes from Chilliwack are included...

And Rick Hansen has lived in Richmond for decades, and is a great rep of Vancouver/Richmond and the amateur sports community there...

And "real" Vancouver (Kerrisdale), not any of this Burnaby/Poco/Richmond/Delta "Vancouver" nonsense.

Terry Fox - Port Coquitlam raised
Cam Neely - Maple Ridge
Greg Moore - Maple Ridge (Enough said - HIGH SCHOOL BULLY - Likely riot material)
Joe Sakic - Burnaby
Christine Sinclair - Burnaby
Rick Hansen - Port Alberni (Williams Lake - early life)
Steve Nash - South Africa born (Victoria - early life)
Nickleback - Hanna, Alberta origin

Actually very few real Vancouverites. Right now Vancouver accounts for just over 10% (under 20% of the lower mainland population).

Maybe Bobby Lenaduzzi (Soccer) might be the most famous real Vancouverite (Barry Beck, John Ferguson and Evander Kane - hockey players from Vancouver). Late Bobby Ackles (B.C. Lions) maybe another.

Funny you refer to one of the most affluent Vancouver neighbourhoods as "real", not quite real for the vast majority I suggest...And hardly "local"...

The locals cant afford to live in Vancouver...Left decades ago if they were smart.

"Real" Vancouver (which I tongue-in-cheek refer to any postal code with a 'Vancouver' address, but generally mean the West Side or downtown/West End) is completely out of most people's price range.

I was more than happy to leave for a job in a city with a significantly lower cost of living, better professional opportunities, and better work/life balance. But my friends slaving away in downtown Van get to brag about living in "the greatest place on earth", I guess.
