With the Free Agent rules. As of now, any team can simply offer him a F.A tryout. Correct?

When this happens, the coach and GM will get some negative media. What would YOU guys do in this situation? Do you take the heat, and grab a future gem. Or do you let it slide, but keep a high morale standard?

how old will he be when he gets out of jail?

think he's likely gone for quite awhile. I think he's got just slightly more of a chance to make a comeback than mike danton.

if he is convicted, would that affect his ability to cross the border? I know US felons have a tough time legitimately getting into canada which caused some problems with mark bell

The crime will have to be severe (it is) and there will have to be clear evidence of malice. In the case of poor judgment I suspect they will probably not try him as an adult.

Just my thoughts.

As for what I think should happen to him, no comment. I have no idea what should be done because I can not think of any scenario where sanity will prevail. The girl will stay dead, no matter what consequence Bell has to face. Destroying Bell's life by sending him to prison won't bring back the girl, and yet the girl's family deserves justice.

There are zero winners here, I'm just glad I'm not the one who has to make this decision.

I believe he does not become a free agent until he hits 20. I believe he just remains draft eligible.
