The crowd looks really small on a few of these (e.g. the below)- are the supposedly Halcyon days of big crowds for county games just a trick of the memory?

Does anybody else remember the plague of greenfly? Not sure what year it was but must have been around 1980.

From memory, it was the year after the ladybird summer, which was 1976. So 1977. I remember seeing people start to wave hands and scorecards at the Peasholm end. In a few minutes they reached us in the Trafalgar Square end.
