A decent guy, with 33 years service with the club. Sad that it had to end this way.

Think he has been a foolish if he thought he could keep something like that quiet.
A real shame though as I have him down as one of the good guys in cricket.

Seem to remember an article about Rhodes having a significant fall out with his Chairman for his handling of the TKC affair!

Sounds like he was put in a very difficult position and his natural reaction was to protect the player.

Innocent until proved guilty and all that.

Not really - Hepburn has been charged, but not convicted. Like it or not, suspension is the norm in such situations (witness Ben Stokes).

Frankly, failing to report his knowledge is a huge safeguarding failing on Rhodes's part, and it amounts to nothing other than gross misconduct. Anywhere else he'd be suspended, investigated and dismissed in pretty rapid fashion - have a look at Acas for guidance http://www.acas.org.uk/index.aspx?articleid=4227). WCCC is involved with the care of under-18s, and in the context of a school, such actions would land you a prohibition order.

Remember, this is an employment matter. If found guilty, Hepburn will face much more serious criminal sanctions than any employment sanctions Rhodes may face.
