As a bit of light relief, post here news regarding lancs, hants and warwickshire.

always thought warwickshire too good to go down, but if hants win they will need to beat lancs.

could be really interesting.

Looks like warwickshire under pressure.

Hants are surely going to beat durham you would think.

that would leave the lancs warwickshire game with loser loses all

I half expected this to be a reactionary type thread about next season, based on recent events.

just a comment on next season, it will be a constant battle for everyone. 2 go down from 8 teams. seems a bit excessive.

I only have one pair of eyes and there are only two games that matter this week so not even looked at the scorecards for the other two div 1 games.

Who do I want to go down? Well as Surrey are safe then perhaps Warwickshire so I don't have to listen to Patel all day when they play us!

lancs all out now 60 odd behind, with hants doing well.

lancs are gonna have to pull a rabbit out of the hat if they wanna be playing us next season.

I will miss the roses matches

Yep, the Warks-Lancs game is looking like a straight shoot-out to avoid the second relegation place with Hants well on-top against Durham. I would prefer Lancs to stay up of the three; I don't think Hants add much to the First Division especially with the Rose Bowl generally producing dull cricket, and I see Warks as a bigger potential threat than Lancs.

If Lancs do go down, we won't be the only ones cursing the ECB after the Stokes/Anderson decisions at Southport earlier in the season...

Lancs had a good early season attack with Anderson, Wagner and a fresh Jarvis all firing. Giles's decision not to seek a replacement for Wagner has backfired spectacularly, together with him allowing a situation to develop that a non-specialist wicket keeper has had to play as such for eight CC games.
