Not bowled yet in the MCC v Middlesex match would suggest he is injured. Lyth has bowled.

Possibly joining Willey on the injured list.

Plunkett just had a tight calf. Probably precautionary.

Brooks out for 4-6 weeks though.

Bad news re Brooks. Plunkett or Fisher for him, if either of them fit.

Brooks and Sidebottom injured already with scarcely a ball bowled in anger. Isn't this a repeat of last season, which accounted for our slow start ?

Siddy, Brooks, Willey, Plunkett injured??

Fisher two weeks away from being fully fit.

Plus no Rashid, Root & Bairstow for first match.

Patto, Bresnan, Rafiq, Coad & ?? for our first match bowling attack v Hants?/

This week v Leeds & Bradford, perhaps it would be wise to rest Patto, or we might end up with him missing as well v Hants.

Bit early for panic stations isn't it? Didn't they say Plunkett was not bowling as a precaution? And Fisher has been bowling.

Andrew Gale on Siddy and Plunkett on the official site today

"Ryan Sidebottom’s just got a tight hamstring, so we’re unsure how long that’s going to be at this stage.

“Liam Plunkett is coming back to Dubai. He’s got a slight calf problem, and we’ll assess that tomorrow.”

We played against Durham (away) last season with Patterson, Bresnan (comeback game after injury, from memory), Shaw and Coad (both on debut) as our attack + Leaning and Lyth (I think) to bowl spin.

We were missing Brooks and Sidebottom, Plunkett and Willey, Fisher and Rashid - and Rafiq had not yet returned to us.

Patto took 6-for and we bowled them out, but couldn't repeat it second time round, and Jennings scored 200* to get the draw.
