Thought he'd signed for Surrey. Turns out that was Mitchell Marsh.

Seems like he's signed for Glamorgan for the next 2 seasons.

Strike another one off the list (although I'm far from convinced that he's actually that good, but in the bigger picture of who might be available and for how long he represented a solid option).

Decent Championship option, too one paced in t20 for my liking though.

That said if Ballance was keen, what went wrong?
Call for TKC..

It did strike me as a little odd that Ballance would be allowed to talk up the signing only for him to go elsewhere a couple of days later. The timescales suggest that it was never really on the table.

i hope we have something lined up, otherwise it looks like a lot of counties are getting in first.

Which counties are getting on first? Only Surrey and Glamorgan appear to me to have made a new signing.h

Glamorgan did admit they expect Marsh to be playing IPL for the start of the season and will need to sign someone else as cover.

IPL in 2018 is scheduled from the 5th of April to the 31st of May.

We don't have the schedule yet for the CC and RLODC but I think that kind of absence is unacceptable and was probably a deal breaker as far as Yorkshire were concerned, if indeed a deal was being talked about.

The fact that Marsh will be playing in the IPL is the same as the majority of overseas players. It is almost impossible now to get any overseas player that will be available every match, in all formats and all season, that is why going down the kolpack route is the best option, but Gale, after his remarks re Prince, has probably shot his options in that department, and the club also appear to be ruling out the kolpack option.

It appears that one of our (alledged) options has gone elsewhere.
