As day 2 ended both Middlesex and Somerset have had the worst of their respective days, and with a little bit of luck, they both may well end up losing their matches.

Weather may play a part - it looks more likely that there'll be a full day's play in London - or nearly - and not very much in Leeds. That may be good for us as Middlesex seemed to be working on the premise of a three-day match and have moved the game forward so fast they now face squeaky bottom time with little prospect of a draw.
As one who failed maths O-level I just hope our lost batting Peter point won't come back to bite us.

Middx heading for victory it seems - ball rolling along the ground pinned Croft.

59-4. Looks like the same kind of track we found at Lords: suddenly got a lot worse.

Well Somerset are not going to beat Surrey but they have home game next week with Middlesex so anything could happen there. If Middlesex beat Lancashire, they will be pretty safe if we fail to beat Warwickshire unless we turn up to perform against Essex.

Doin' our best for you - what are your thoughts if Lancs were 10 - 15 short and nine down and we didn't send in Hameed so we lost? On our part we don't need the points and we certainly don't need to worsen his injury - however there are several other teams looking for us to do our best for them.

6-down now so beginning to look a realistic prospect
