I strongly suspect GB will not make the test team.......3 CC in a row, and nothing in between now until the T20 starts in July and it `s very likely we will have a different top 5 for every game.
Next week v Middlesex - same 5 as last week?
v Surrey the following week, no Gary (he is colour blind), but Joe available.
v Somerset no Joe, or Gary (in test squad?).
Does Jack get 3, 2 or 1 more chance.
Does KC come in and when?
Does Brook get his chance, and when?
Gut feeling
Middlesex --- Lyth, Lees, Hanscomb, Ballance, Leaning.
Surrey --- Lyth, Lees, Root, Hanscomb, KC (unless Jack does well at Lords).
Somerset --- Lyth, Brook, Lees, Hanscomb, KC.
It's not easy to tell who is in form and who isn't. When the four day game is so fragmented and disjointed with no continuity then do we know if Hameed and Jennings are ahead of the queue?3 CC in a row, and nothing in between now until the T20 starts in July and it `s very likely we will have a different top 5 for every game.

The balance of the side is an issue here. Do the three all-rounders, Bairstow, Stokes, Ali, bat at 6-8, in my view a place too low. If they do, there is a place for another batsman at 5, and GB would be my choice. If not, there is room for an extra bowler, but is there any need, unless it was for a second spinner (please God no, I'd rather lose Balance than Rashid)? My own solution would be to play a wicket-keeper. Anyone remember them?3 CC in a row, and nothing in between now until the T20 starts in July and it `s very likely we will have a different top 5 for every game.

Just a thought re Gary Ballance's colour-blindness. If he actually does have problems with the pink ball would England really want him when they have day/night Tests in August and November? Surely they won't want to slot someone in and out again for one Test in each series, particularly Ashes? Will be interesting to see what happens in the Surrey game. Could work in our favour for the rest of the season.3 CC in a row, and nothing in between now until the T20 starts in July and it `s very likely we will have a different top 5 for every game.

I too would be surprised to see Gary back in the test reckoning until the ashes touring side is picked at the earliest.3 CC in a row, and nothing in between now until the T20 starts in July and it `s very likely we will have a different top 5 for every game.

England don't change much. I expect test wise it will be:3 CC in a row, and nothing in between now until the T20 starts in July and it `s very likely we will have a different top 5 for every game.
